Thanks for the compliment.

The Buckleberry ferry is a simple 'unit death' event.
One of the Hobbits 'bumps' into a question mark unit standing by the landing stage at the water's edge (I've made this ultra weak so it destroy's really easy), this then triggers an event that creates the ferry to take you across the river. Once you've crossed over, the ferry can be set to sleep ('S') as there's nothing else it'll do for the rest of the game.
Hope this answers your question.

Of course, foolish me!

Suggestion: If the black riders reach the bridge first, then you could make it get the ferry, so that the hobbits will have to use the bridge further up the river... (?) That way, the hobbits would have to hurry to reach the ferry first.

Yes if the Riders kill the event unit first but they aren't set as the trigger civ, then the ferry will never be created. Good idea.

Oh and I am not being cheeky ;) I have nothing but praise for your work :)

... I'm hoping (crossed fingers) it'll all be done for x-mas.

So, is it progressing on schedule? :goodjob: :) (having a hard time waiting)

Nice.
Unfortunately, I just haven't got room in the event file to handle any more stuff.
I wanted to do something similar if you reached Crickhollow a day or so later than in the book (Black Riders turned up and scared the life out of Fatty Bolger). But, there's just no room!
:(

Well it's certainly progressing. But, I'm a few days behind thanks to a tech problem (sorted now!).
Unfortunately, X-mas release has been pushed back to Dec 30th. I need to do some more GFX, soundFX, enemy placement, playtesting and polishing.
That might sound like a lot... well, it is. But, I'm confident it can be done before years end.
:crazyeye:

:goodjob: I respect that (as I myself have just postponed finishing a scenario... :D ).
Just played your RotK again, it's brilliant. I like the strategic aspect of it, will this scenario have a such strategic side too? Or will it purely be an RPG?

Glad you liked RotK. :)
With The Fellowship I've gone back to the kind of gameplay I had in Moria. So, no armies to control, just members of the Fellowship. But, instead of a interior environment, the action takes place in the open lands between Bagend and Rivendell.

Having seen the download figures over at Apolyton, I'm not sure if this was a good idea in hindsight. Over there my RotK scenario has been downloaded more than twice as many times as my Moria scenario.

True anarchy. There's no other scen like Moria out there. I think this might be a great one to. :D

I'm also very curious what your secret project is about Favoured. I've heard it's also has something to do with Tolkien and that makes me even more curious. ;)

Hope to see a release of the fellowship soon. Keep up the good work. :goodjob:

Don't get me wrong, Moria was great, but RotK was better! :goodjob: Your scenarios are by far the most advanced and comprehensive scenarios since the days of Nemo and Alex...
Keep up the good work!

Just thought I'd say... it's finished! :D
I'm just going through the final playtesting.
Here's a new screenshot (with the finalised graphics - the Shire is a good bit more pastoral than it had been, and the Hobbits have got Smials to live in ('hobbit holes').
NB: I've also updated the sceenshot I initially posted.
Larger versions of these can be seen at my website. Where you'll be able to download the game (hopefully tomorrow (or even tonight)).

Thanks.
I've been trying to email the whole thing to Civfanatics for the past few hours but have been frustrated by my poor internet connection. Everytime I get about half way through, it just falls over and I'm back to square one.
Ah well. Nice to see someone's getting to play it though.:)

I shall try again... and again.

Finally! It worked.
Hope you like it.

Happy New Year!:D

Yay! :goodjob: It's out! My expectations are extremely high! (haven't had time to download it yet, but will now...)

Am I the only one having problem when I reach weathertop? None of my units can kill the "!" unit. So I can't finish the scenario :( what to do?

YOu dont kill the '!'. At this point you must make sure all your units are at weathertop and save the game as 'save1.sav' Then use the 'fell' bat file that came with the scenario.
