Mac Civ3 Roll Call

Well, I'm new here, and I'm definitely a Mac Addict and Mac Advocate and becoming a Civ Fanatic, but what is a forum template???

Welcome heikeott!
Welcome MacBaldrick!

A forum template? Look in the little window under the poster's avatars. See the little thing that says "Style: Mac OS X"? In your case (as of this posting), it's "Style: Modern CFC." What dojoboy is talking about is that style template.

Style templates actually change the look and feel (but not the content) of the CivFanatics forums. Since some fanatics spend a lot of time here, it can make a difference on what you feel is an easier format on your eyes.

If you navigate back to the main forum page: [go here ->]Civilization Fanatics' Forums > CIVILIZATION III > Civ3 - Macintosh, you'll see this on the right side:

[Modern CFC]

Well, that "Modern CFC" button is where you can change your style. Count as of this post:
Modern CFC (24497 users)
Turnip Green (141 users)
Dark Blue (388 users)
Pale White (152 users)
Classic CFC (160 users)
Mac OS X (204 users)
Extreme CFC (125 users)
Ancient CFC (171 users)

I like the OS X interface, and I'll be honest -- it's not because any loyalty to OS X, it's actually because I find it's the brightest, easiest to read interface. Give them all a shot.

And again: welcome.

I guess I'm 53...huh?

Have never played Civ on anything but Mac going back to Civ I...currently running on Imac 512 MB OSX...I think something like 700 Mhz...

I'd be curious to know what the optimum setup is on Mac for a smooth running game. I'm fairly happy with it, but have noticed some sticking especially on the advisors pages and the game will drag around the 20th century mark...nothing major, but noticeable. I'm posting a thread too, just cause I'm curious.

Dixonbm here! Count me in! I've been a Mac fanatic for 10 years and a civ3 fanatic for 1. :)

Currently have a dual 1GHZ G4 and a Pismo Powerbook G3 400mhz

55. I think... Grovern8r, long time lurker, 2nd post. Former PC user now almost exclusive mac user (no, I'm not a "switch" story) My supervisor (graduate) is a long time mac user (make that rabid) and when she had a whole bunch of funds got a new iMac 15" and a 15" titanium powerbook. Got Civ3 a few days later. While there are fewwer games for the Mac, I do prefer the stability.

Well, I read these boards nearly everyday and don't post that much.... I guess I'm 56

dark blue is much more eye friendly.

I've been registered at CFC for 1 (day), but have been enjoying Civ3
and these forums for a few months now. Count me as 58.

I barely meet the specs with a 500 MHz iBook.

I've been a Mac user since our MacSE back in '89. I remember some of the old school games: Continuum, Dungeon of Doom, Scarab of RA, SimCity (the ORIGINAL), Glider...

(Remarkably, many of the games now work in Classic, some of which never worked in previous OSes.)

I've been a Civ player since I downloaded a demo version of Civ 2 by chance... and reverse engineered how to play the game from it! I figure it's been 5 years, proud owner of Civ II, Civ II Gold, and Civ III.

Anyway, I need to find some more time to play Civ 3 to get good at it...

OS X FOREVER!
I'm on a mission to get some OS X computers on my college campus, get better Mac support, and applications for students. Our club is making progress...

Anyway, uh, glad there's an editor out now. I love customizing stuff.

63 is an odd number (take that at whatever level you care to), but what the hey!

I've been Mac'in since 1989, and Civ'in since Civ 3 came to the Mac.

Thanks for all who post, reply, and maintain this wonderful site!

Well, I just recently re-discovered this site, and was pretty impressed. This game seems to have quite a community and a number of events going on ...even if they aren't all mac-friendly. That makes 66?

Then I'm 67 - just got my first mac game the other day, and its Civ 3! NZ represent!
