Mac crashes

    Hi all,

    Firstly - good work on an excellent site.

    I got a copy of Civ3 for the mac today but since installing it, have only had about five mins gameplay before it crashes (thought crashing was a thing of the past after throwing my PC in the bin) ;)

    Anyhoo, I've copied some of the error report in the hope that someone can shed some light on why this is happening.

    Do you get a message box within the game or does it just exit to the finder? If it's in game can you post a screenie or at least the text of the message?

    Hi, welcome :wavey:

    You're running the PowerPC code, under Rosetta. I suspect that means you have the original release of Civ3 Complete which was not an Intel-native application.

    I strongly recommend that you download and run the Aspyr Rev A updater to get the Universal code which will run native on your Intel CPU.

    You are currently ...
    ... running Windows code that has been ...
    ... wrapped in a layer of Windows->Mac+PowerPC adaptation software, ....
    ... and that's running in the Rosetta converter to convert it back to Intel code ...

    Hardly surprising that it falls apart!
