MAC help

Here's my Civ3Edit /Contents folder listing. You seem to be missing an awful lot of bits! In particular, it's very unlikely to get to first base without MainMenu.nib.

Mine is version 1.32.1, downloaded from hereabouts.

Well, whichever way you cut it, it still seems to me that MainMenu.nib is missing. Nothing's going to work without it, as that's the primary user interface definition. So I suggest you go looking for an installer that will give you the full version of Civ3Edit.

I got it works!!!

I got Yeahhhh!!!!!!

There IS a god!!!

Well done! Are you going to tell us how you fixed it? Or is that your own little secret?

I didn't have all the files so I downloaded every type of Civ3Edit there was than I ran them all at once.

Civ3Edit Quit
Civ3Edit Quit
Civ3Edit Opens Editor Window
Civ3Edit Quit

Then I placed the 3rd Civ3Editor in the Civ3 Folder and Viola!!!

I don't suppose you remember which link supplied the good one, and where the others were? Is there a difference in the version numbers? Sorry to be a pain, but it seems to me we ought to try to improve things for those who come after.

I just downloaded the one from your links the"mirror 1" and "mirror 2"
from this website and one form thefiraxis website. The versions weren't diffrent.

Well, I don't know where your system is going, but I just tested the links I could find, including downloading and launching the files, with the following results:

I don't know which link you are referring to when you say "one from your links". I can't see a link in my posts in this thread.

I can't find a link to the editor on the Firaxis site (www.firaxis.com).

MacSoft is the publisher of the Mac version, and their site at www.macsoftgames.com has a link that goes to a valid download at http://macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=17571.

There are two links in the Mac downloads area of www.civfanatics.com. "mirror 1" goes to the same valid macgamefiles.com location. "mirror 2" goes to a local file which is an older version, 1.32f dated a month earlier, with a different icon. But it also loads and runs OK.

Bottom line is I can't find a copy as bad as the ones you have. All but one of the links I found lead to a single valid latest version. The local copy at mirror 2 doesn't fail like yours, but should be updated - I'll alert Thunderfall.
