Mac Startup Error

I have recently bought Civ V via Steam. Disappointing imo. - To the point

I'm running Virtual Machine and starting up Civ V/steam works fine.
I get through the entering video thing and the screen freezes with a box and a metal guy to the top left of it.

Anyone know how to fix this?
