Making Armies

Being but a simple minded girl, I have been led to believe, that once I have built a Military Academy, that I should be able to build armies without a leader, but I can't seem to do this, can anyone help me!!!! I know that I must be doing something wrong but what?

An "Army" unit should show up in the list of items available to be built in the city where your Military Academy is located. They can only be built in that city.

No worries - The academy only allows you to build Armies in the city that the academy is situated.

If I remember right, you can only build one army for every 4 (or is it 3?) cities you possess. This rule stands regardless of whether you have the Military Academy or not. Perhaps this is the cause of your inability to build more?

The one army for every 4 cities rule also applies to using great leaders.

In GOTMV (March with the Americans in the crappy start position), I got my first great leader from combat when I had only two cities of my own and one from conquest, I had to wait until I conquered a fourth city to build the first army. This sort of screwed up my plans a tad bit becasue I did not fully recognize the impact of the 4 city rule.
