I've recently been playing around with the various options to make an interesting game, and I made a really fun one last night... I made 19 different teams of each civilization, with each civilization having all of their leaders (i.e. Luchurip had a team of both leaders, Ljolsfar had a team of their three leaders, Illians all alone, etc)... it was a crazy crazy time! Now, since it was a randomly created map (I used a pangea huge map, deity, with high sea level, no settlers, no city razing and various other options)... it wasnt balanced, with several civs being by themselves, but I could definately see it having potential if someone were to make this map by hand and tweak it (maybe give the single civs some starting technologies). Honestly, I dont think it would even be possible to have it be completely balanced, but some civs would make for a challenging game (Faeryl or Caridith), and others an easy game (the light elves).
I played as Sabathial and we were being slaughtered by Hippus and Lanun, until I managed to capture neighboring Malakim which knocked them out. Both Sheam civs were wiped out relatively early (they might have spawned near Barbatos), along with the Calabim. It was non-stop warring and an all around good time, though it was demanding on my puny machine! Anyway, just wanted to share this with you guys, and strongly recommend that you guys try it out... and to see if hopefully a good map-maker would enjoy this scenario as much as I did and see if they would create a more balanced version.
