I'd like a map of North America stretching from southern Canada to Mexico City. The map should be large enough to fit America's major cities of the east coast without being cramped.

I'll be finished with a map of North America this weekend (probably friday) if you want to use it. It is 200X250 & includes the entire official continent. I can plug it into the maptweaker utility to cut out Central America & the Arctic if you need (should drop it to around 200x200 or smaller yet if Alaska is not included). I'll post a screenshot of the mini map tomorrow or saturday.
I'm not a map maker, but it's not a bad map. It's at least something good enough that a little tweaking might be all it needs to satisfy your needs.

You may need to dl some windows files, so if you rather not - let me know approx where to cut the north & south latitudinals based on city locations and I can do it for you. If you do grab the files, the program is very easy to use, but only use it for cutting or shifting the map, as the tile placement is sometimes corrupted when reopened in the C3C editor.
This is the editor El Justo used & recommended in the American Revolution thread. He 'borrowed' the American East Coast from another map & shifted it to fit our needs there - just to get an idea on how useful it can be.
