Maps, scripts and WBS files, how they relate?

I want to use Trips Europe Map in the SevoMod. Does the game setup screen allow you to choose a MAP, or just a map script that then generates a map?

My limited understanding is that maps exist in a WBS file, or you can use a map script that then generates a map. So if you have a pre-built map of say, Europe, it would be in a WBS file that also contains player info, etc. If that is so, then that info might conflict with a Mod that contains different civs.

Is there a utility that allows a user to just import that map from another WBS file, or are there premade maps that are NOT in WBS files?

A WBS is a scenerio, not a map. It already has all of the civs, leaders, units, etc etc all assigned. There isnt an easy process to extract just the map data.

I might take a crack at it this afternoon.

Then you would be a hero.

I notice that all the plot info for a map is in the WBS file. What is needed is to be able to pull that out.

Thanks for the feedback, btw.

But the game calls the WorldBuilderSave files "scenarios", too, correct? So what I could do is load the Mod, then open the scenario with the map I want and go from there.

Yes, assuming you could load the scenario without errors in the mod of your choice, you could then modify it in the worldbuilder, and save the result as a new scenario (I think ... i don't use the worldbuilder much).
