Look further to the east. We the people elect representation that is committed to widespread destruction, and slowly but surely that destruction happens.

<shakes fist> Hoosiers!

I'm not sure if you are doing this on purpose, but acting like a five-year-old asking an endless series of 'why' questions and then lamenting how the discourse has fallen into the gutter is almost as hypocritical as Marco Rubio.
People have been behaving as though Rubio has a routine of oppressing speech beyond this single vote. If you believe that, feel free to demonstrate it through examples.

If it is as obvious as people say then people should be readily able to address simple inquiries that could be asked by five-year olds.

I wasn't talking specifically about oppressing speech, but about his contributing to the general climate of partisan acrimony, either because he agrees with his party or because he lacks the spine to disagree with it publicly. If you need that to be 'demonstrated' to you you should probably take your civic duty of paying attention to the elected representatives more seriously.

I am taking it seriously. I am asking you, and others who have responded and represented themselves as learned in this topic.
How was he the architect of that acrimony?

Do your own research.

Nearly everyone here seems to want to educate me, at least right up until I ask them to.

I don't. You as a student are the very worst kind. The kind that demands to be spoonfed knowledge that is easily found, and then complains about the taste of the spoon and spits out the knowledge only to demand it again the next day.

Stop blaming my ignorance for your laziness. I'm trying to give the floor to people who are willing to provide some evidence beyond a single vote.

I think I devoted more than enough posts to trying to educate you to form an opinion. If you don't like me posting my opinion of you, stop throwing out bait threads about obvious nonsense like "Marco Rubio is a paragon of non-partisan civil discourse."

Regardless of your opinion of me, when a person says Rubio is an architect of partisan divisiveness and then provides as the sole piece of evidence that he is a member of a party then it is clear that there is partisan divisiveness going on. Just not who caused it.

As for it being easy to research Rubio's record as a villain of free speech, a simple Google search should...

Oh.

Guess it isn't actually that easy to research.

Keep crying about the taste of the spoon. I love your tears. It's easier since I know that your claims about desiring to be educated are just outright lies.

It's your responsibility to pay attention to what the representatives are doing, not mine to show you. Look at the Senate's website if you want to see how he's voted during Obama's term.

It's your responsibility to provide a scintilla of evidence to back up your statements.

I already provided a scintilla, your response was 'what else?'

Now I'm telling you that he voted with the Republicans, party line votes, almost every time if not every single time he voted on something. You can confirm this by looking on the Senate website, as I said. If Little Marco was no more partisan than his colleagues, he was no less partisan than them either.

Why would that be his responsibility, given your established history of ignoring any amount of evidence presented? Why should anyone waste their time at your request, given that you are...well...you?

Actually, if you look at the Senate website, you'll find he didn't vote in line with the party at least 41% of the time.

Generally, people aren't responsible for providing evidence to prove another party's thesis.

No one said they should be. What was said is that since you consistently ignore evidence no one should be responsible for continuing to provide it on your request.
