Master of Myrror Fantasy Mod 2.0

I understand how the auto save works. It has nothing to do with being stuck in the tech tree screen.

rucknrun .. i get that freezing problem too for some reason civ3 sometimes out of the blue crashes out .. now occasionally on some of these mods it freezes when i view something in the civpedia and a error that says tehre are too many hyperlinks comes up at that point i have to exit through the task manager and reload civs from the autosave thingy

Why don't you post the autosave file from the turn before you get stuck? Unless it's already overwritten...

Since the mods looks stable,
what about a gotm like game ?

someone posts a starting position,
and we try our best to obtain the best possible result.
And brag about it on this list :D

I can start a game, but I don't feel like enforcing any rule,
it's just for fun. I don't feel like having any kind of time limit,
since I do myself only have little time to play. :sad:

sounds cool to anybody ?
what stats should this game have ?
(mage/difficulty/terrain, etc ... ?)

Is there any world map for this mod?

Or any set map with locked alliances?

Because I don't like playing random maps much.

@Old Lion

Hope that gotm idea picks up. :) Unfortunately I can't help or participate right now. Too busy.

@Nooble

No, there are no maps for the mod that I know of. I'm not into making maps as I don't like playing with them and no one else has done the job for me. ;)

Here's a map I made a while ago.

Fairly small w/ 8 civs: 2 of each mage type

Resources are placed so that each race starts out w/ unique "race" resources

There is a problem with your map.
when I build my first city => you suffered an humiliating conquest defeats.

What about a random map (even an easy one)
The aim is not to win against the Ai, but to do it better than the other participants.

Sorry about the map, you can probably fix the problem by either

1. placing king units

2. checking the "auto place king units" box

3. Unchecking the regicide flag

Just wanted to say that this is a great mod, and I hope that we'll see some enhancements to it in the future. I haven't played enough yet to offer any suggestions, but I like what I see so far. Thanks, Drift.

Thank you syndicatedragon. I haven't completely abandoned the idea of doing the expansion. However, I'm going to be extremely busy from here to Christmas so I won't get anything done until January. It's possible that I won't get anything done then either, but like I said, I haven't decided on it yet. :)

An expansion would be great - I'm playing MOM again just now after excursions into the Warhammer and Rise and Rule mods (both also great mods), but MOM is too good to be forgotten! :goodjob:

Doc Tsiolkovski just claimed in another thread that the AI doesn't recognize units that cannot pillage as a threat to its Workers, and thus dont have them flee from such units.

I can't recall seeing any unusual suicidalness with Workers on the AI's part with the non-pillaging units in MoM; has anyone else? If yes, we know how to fix it ...

@TLC

Thanks for bringing this up. I can't recall anything like that either. Every time I've invaded, I've seen just combat units, no workers running around.

If anyone has experienced problems with this, please say so. It's been a while since I played the mod and my memory may well fail me.

I think it's time.

I haven't done anything for MoM in ages and I've been really busy these last months. I just haven't found the time or energy to design the promised expansion.

So, I'm sorry to announce that...

...the expansion has taken this long and will take even longer. BUT, it will get done. I made a decision about 15 minutes ago when I heard that the biggest gaming magazine in Finland has covered the mod in their latest issue. Also, the new fantasy units for WH2.0 have me itching and I long for the feel of creation. I will get the expansion done, no matter what. Work starts after Christmas. I'll expect to work at a fast rate and go for release during the first two months of 2005.

MoM deserves to be taken a little more further, there's still a lot of untapped promise in its current state. You'll hear from me in the future, thank you for playing MoM. Hopefully I can live up to your expectations.

Best regards
Drift
