MBP(2010)/Lion OSX - Freeze/Crash Issue

Has anyone else experienced crashing on their Mac version of Civ 5? I've just purchased it so running the latest build 1.0.2. I have the mid 2010 i7 model MBP with 8GB ram.

I've had to run the gfxCardStatus app to stop Lion OSX from crashing all the time (still crashes now and then). By far the worst experience I have ever had with any OS in the 20 or so years I have been using computers. Praying that 10.7.2 will fix it.

Thought I should also add, it crashes not long after starting a new game, usually a matter of seconds.

IMO there is still some bad coding in the graphics memory area, in which the game is not releasing memory properly. It seems to be worse the more memory one has.
