As part of a school project I have to evaluate a popular computer game and the people who play it. It would be a great help if people could post replys to this thread. Thanks.

1. How old are you?
2. How often do you play MTW?
3. For how long a day do you play MTW?
4. To the best of your knowledge what is your family’s history? European? African? Asian?
5. What factions do you usually play as?
6. Does your family history effect your faction choice?
7. Why do you play MTW?
8. Does the historic validity of MTW encourage you to play?
9. What aspects about MTW encourage you to play over other computer games of the same medieval genre, like World of Warcraft?

1. 20

2. Several times a week, depending on workload.

3. Only an hour or so, depending on work again.

4. One side was from Spain, and the other English. So I am kind of half blooded Spanish! And I now reside in sunny ol' Sydney, Australia, with my family after they emigrated here.

5. England, France, Turks.

6. Somewhat, but it is hardly a defining aspect of why I choose nations to play. I mainly do it to take an interesting standpoint in history. Like when Milan took over the known world, including the Middle East, until not being able to stop the Mongol horde.

7. I loved RTW, and thought I'd buy Medieval 2 after a PC upgrade. I play it for the battles where we are so outnumbered, but still come back after a heavy fight with many casualties.

8. Not particularly, seeing the game itself doesn't quite portray the period. Sure there were wars, but not to the extent to which I personally play at.

9. I actually played (and still play) MTW due to my interest in the Medieval era. It doesn't quite encourage me to play others.

wow, sorry dat I never say this......

1. can't say (mom's orders)
2. every day at least an hour a day
3. at least an hour a day
4. Chinese, Japanese, Samoan
5. France, HRE, and Turks
6. no, since I'm not european
7. for strategy, learning, and most obviously FUN
8. well, most of the units are historically accurate, but the battles are WAY bigger in the game I imagine
9. It's BEEPING SUPER FUN

1)22
2)I'll play it a few times a week for a bit, then leave it alone for a few weeks when I get bored.
3)On the days I play it, a couple of hours, but I don't play anywhere near every day.
4)European (English)
5)England, Portugal, Hungary, Milan.
6)For England yes, I'm simply more familiar with it. The others no, they simply are in the more interesting regions of the map.
7)Because it's fun? Not sure what kind of answer you're looking for here.
8)It doesn't bother me that much. As long as there's nothing ridiculously ahistoric I don't care.
9)World of Warcraft is a MMORPG, a completely different genre. While I do play some RPGs I've avoided massively multiplayer stuff as I've a feeling I'd end up addicted. MTW2 is strategy, and I play a lot of games in that genre regardless of the era they are set in.

1. 20
2. bout 5 hours a week
3. maybe an hour
4. French, Albanian, English
5. French
6. I went with random
7. Looked fun
8. Historically accurate games tend to be more fun!
9. You don't have to pay to play this online..

1. Lutzj is ageless, stop pestering him with thy futile questions! :gripe:
2. 1-3 times a week
3. Either a 5-15 minute battle or a 10-hour campaign binge.
4. Irish, German, a dash of Cherokee on my mother's side.
5. I end up liking them all.
6. Nope. The HRE is too big and unwieldy for me.
7. I like strategy games, and the Total War series blends RTS and turn-based nicely.
8. Yes; it makes the whole experience richer.
9. Since getting it, I've bought AoE2 and M2TW partly for that reason, so yes.

1. How old are you?
- Fifteen years.
2. How often do you play MTW?
- Can't, looping campaign button problem thing (but I remember playing it daily before changing my PC).
3. For how long a day do you play MTW?
- 1-6 hours.
4. To the best of your knowledge what is your family’s history? European? African? Asian?
- Tagalog with heavy bits of Spanish and Chinese.
5. What factions do you usually play as?
- Ottomans, though my second choice would always be Byzantium.
6. Does your family history effect your faction choice?
- A bit. I don't play the English for some reason, probably because those imperialists oppressed out captial city for a few weeks.
7. Why do you play MTW?
- The setting, the pixels, and the mixed Risk-esque grand and real-time tactical strategy style of the game.
8. Does the historic validity of MTW encourage you to play?
- A bit. I feel it's lack of wacky head-throwers and barbarian phalangites adds to the immersion.
9. What aspects about MTW encourage you to play over other computer games of the same medieval genre, like World of Warcraft?
- System requirements, the strategy bits, the tactics bits, and the roleplaying opportunities.
