these are my first presentable units. I hope you like them. if you use them in a mod , please gimme credit. :)
they´re glossy and teamcolored. :goodjob:

Looks cool. The prophet looks somewhat like month'y little brother :lol:

To bad great people are seen somewhat rarely - almost feels like vaste using that great stuff on a unit that only pops up a couple of times per game.
 
Hi.

I've added both of these units in, however the halo glow effect doesn't seem to work. The engineer doesn't have one, and the prophet's is a purple square.

I can't see a reference to this effect in the ArtDefines_Unit, and I just copied and overwrote the original prophet and engineer. Any idea what I'm missing?

i don´t know about the engineer, but concerning the prophet you should just remove the greatprophet_glow.dds from the folder and it should work. or try copying that file from the original folder. it´s possible however that i missed adding something, though i tried it several times. i was very tired that day and right now i´m not at home, but i will check it on sunday and eventually update the download files. does anyone else have the same problems?
f so, i´m very sorry for being overhasty. i will correct this soon.

If you simply overwrote the original unit it should work, otoh I have no idea how you did that as it is in the FPK ;)

Copy over the greatprophet_glow.dds to the Prophet unit and it should work (does for me).

The engineer works right out of the box for me, I copied the Mayan_Holkan_Weapons_64.dds to his dir though as it is referenced in the nif (not sure if it is needed, the nif also refers to a environment_fx_bronze.dds which I did not find anywhere and it did not hurt either).
 
Ok, technically speaking I do know how to do that, it just is that I never heard of anyone doing it that way ;)

I would create a dir under Art with the same path as the one in the FPK and store the files there. That is the same as overwriting them technically. Not sure how the system deals with missing files (like the gloss) in those cases, so I rather have them all in one place.

In any case, I do not know which of these two ways were used, that is what I actually meant ;)

that´s the way how i checked the engineer, so it´s ought to work properly. for the prophet i created a new xml reference in unitartdefines.xml (or similar; as i said i´m not at home right to check what´s the correct name), where i put the _fx.nif to both the shader and the nonshader line and it also worked. but if you´d just be a little patient, you´ll get a complemented folder for download on sunday.

Hi. Just tried putting greatprophet_glow.dds from the normal prophet folder into the fodler for your unit, loaded up and it works fine. Looks like you might have forgotten a file then.

you´re welcome. for i loaded down so much great stuff from here, i want to give something back to the community, as i now know how to assemble units.

coming up next is a meso-american artist, scientist, warlord and if i manage to design a llama, there´s gonna be a great merchant, too. and i´m also planning ahead asian and middle-east great people.
