Metroid: Other M

...that's nice. Care to explain why, or insert ANY kind of discussion into this thread? If not, this is better off in the random raves thread.

I put the trailer in there now.

Well thats... almost a step in the right direction. A cinematic trailer (as the name is) is, to be honest, useless in attempting to judge a game's actual content.

EDIT: And having watched the trailer... I'm lost. I have NO idea what the hell the game is about, or anything.

Still, what do you want us to discuss here? How badly YOU want this game?

Okay, this thread could use some real discussion and it is an upcoming game (that on top of everything I might expect to be popular among many people here).

So...

What I've heard from reviewers/demos/etc... is that the game has truly excellent controls/gameplay in general, mix of 2D and 3D and using motion controls. I can't speak for it firsthand, but you routinely see things like "they might already say the Wii controls are all right but Metroid: Other M makes all those other games look clunky"

There's a lot of Internet debate or whatever about they story and other aspects of the game, I've read a little and even read/seen parodies. And actually, seeing that preview, which I hadn't seen before, I guess I really had not realized how much Samus has been sexed up or whatever you would call it. Again, though, I know very little about the game. These two things are probably the average starting point of such a discussion about the game though - gameplay and controls or so on or you know, whatever else you want to observe.

Oh, it was released August 31.

For those who are interested, a showcase interview earlier in the month.

So... what is the 'Other M'?

As a Nintendo fan, I'm rather hyped about the game, and I'm hoping to get my paws on it as soon as possible.

What I basically hope for this game is that it'll give a better and more detailed insight on Samus' past instead of what we got in Zero Mission.
Also, the fight against Ridley and a number of bosses look nice. I'm hoping for the best.

I've just started playing this. Samus sure is chatty in this game.

Samus: (sees a dead body) "Clearly, this place is dangerous..." yes thank you, Samus.

The controls will take some getting used to, I keep trying to lock and dodge.
