What are people’s experiences like using mod civs from various makers (eg JFD, Suk, CIVITAS, AoSEc, etc)?

I’ve been experiencing frequent unavoidable CTDs either in the early medieval era or late modern era when using a combination of mod civs from the big modders, which on inspection of the logs seem stable and aren’t throwing up any game-breaking errors. I’ve heard of other people who can use a bunch of different mod civs and experience no crashes, so I can’t figure out why I’m experiencing them. Leaves me to have to debug mods by adding 1 per game, restricting me to playing on online speed.

I’ve checked things like memory usage and there don’t appear to be any issues there. My GPU is an Nvidia GTX 970M. I’ve been able to finish games on the YNAMP giant earth map several times when the game has been behaving, so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue. I use the lowest graphics settings.

So, what game conditions have people been using these mods under (ie YNAMP or no YNAMP) and has anyone been experiencing similar issues? I’ve been meaning to develop some city state packs and I’ve got a Yakutia civ on ice, but I feel I can’t justify work on either of these with these problems occuring.

My most recent mod list:

-YNAMP with Dover yields, border expansion, closer cities, faster movement, less barbarian addons
-Religion expanded
-Historical religions
-Better civ icons
-JFD’s Mali
-AoSEc’s Navajo and Comanche
- CIVITAS Songhai, Philippines, Akkad, Seljuqs, Assyria, Taino
- Merrick’s Sweden
- Antagonise’s Oirat
- Sukritact’s Ethiopia and Iceland
- TCS’s Kingdom of Jerusalem

The game can CTD without any mods.
But CTDS are more frequent with mods.

I cannot get past the early Classical Era and don't see anything in the logs giving cause for the CTDs. I can play to the end, consistently, without mods.
