Middle Ages conquest

I've beaten it (Regent level) with England, Germany, Cordova, Sweden, and Byzantium, and about to beat it with the Turks... The "barbarian" nations have it way too easy in the game. I had racked up 70,000 points at the point of victory (30,000) when I completed the Conquest with the Swedes. Try Byzantium if you want a little more challenge.

An interesting note, you can take Jerusalem fairly quickly with England if you load your army (which you start with) and the Grail Relic into one of your galleys, and sail it directly there. The defenders won't stand a chance. You can also try to hit Venice on the way and pick up their Relic.

The AI hardly builds any units on regent level. That's why you are finding it too easy. At least play on Diety to give yourself a decent challenge I reckon.

Hmmm, I dunno, the ability to attack right out of a longboat with four 6 attack units, and then retreat back into it beyond reach... the "barbarians" really have an advantage here.

And let's not forget you get the Berserks right from the start of the game, while the other civs are still messing around with 2 defense units like Spearmen and Swordsmen.

Yeah, the first time I played this scenario was as the English. I did pretty well (including wiping out most of France) until one of the barbarian civs started picking on me:

GAH!!! THAT WAS MY CAPITAL!!!

What fool put the English capital on the coast??? :(

So I played the Byzintines next, and won pretty decisively (all on Monarch).
