In 843, the great empire of Charlemagne as well as the Islamic Califate are now each divided into three parts, while the once mighty Byzantine Empire is but the shadow of itself. Beyond these traditional powers, more and more tribes are organising into kingdoms in order to resist the growing threat of the faraway Vikings and Tatar. In the meantime, mystics are spreading words of crusades, heretics and plagues sent to smite the mortals for their sins. Who can rule the greatest kingdom of the Middle Ages by the year 1453?

To play, extract the .ZIP into your Civ3\Conquests\Scenarios folder and launch the game.

The purpose of this mode is to expand upon the classic Middle Ages Conquest by making all civs playable, more unique (with 14 new Unique Units), by adding three new civilizations (Armenia, Sicily & Venice), and updating the Civilopedia, without touching the core concept, gameplay and tech tree of the scenario.
Victory is far from being as easy to achieve with each civilization. The objective is to offer many fun different gameplays and challenges accross medieval european and mediterranean world, some being much harder than others.

As this game mode is released in v1.0 and even if I am quite happy of its current gameplay, I am aware it could receive a bunch of improvements in a potential future version: Using no custom model is a parti pris as a beginner in customisation, the Norse civilizations could receive distinct UU, the map could be tweaked endlessly... Do not hesitate to share your remarks and ideas on Civfanatics or Reddit if you enjoy the mode!

I hope you will have as much fun playing and beating this mode as I had creating it!

Differences from the original Conquest:

-Some tiles and ressources have been changed around the map. Rivers have been added.
Spoiler The minimap at the start of the game :

- All civs have been made playable.
- All civs now have traits and a Unique Unit.

- Knights and Ansar Warriors are now Regional Units rather than Unique Units.
- The Longbowman is replaced by the Crossbowman.
- Units with "Build Fortress" now also have the "Build Barricade" ability.

- Meet the Armenians, Mil/Rel using Byzantine flavor and producing the Composite Bowman (Archer with more attack & Build Fortress); will you survive between three giants coveting the Anatolian plateau where you settled millenias ago?
- Meet the Sicilians, Sci/Rel using all four flavors and producing the Serjean (Crusader with more defense and the Amphibious assault); will you have enough diplomatic finesse to become the jewel of the Mediterranean?
Spoiler A glimpse of their Civilopedia entry :

- Meet Venice, Rel/Com/Sea, using Byzantine and Catholic flavours, and using a Unique Government, Unique Small Wonder and producing the Galeas while being unable to fund new cities; can one city become an empire reining over the seas?
- Meet the terrifying Tatars, (heavily reworked Turks) Com/Mil, nomads strangers to all the European and Mediterranean flavors and producing the Keshiks (extremely powerfull Horsemen) and the Fire Arrows (medieval "cruise missile", introducing gunpowder warfare to Europe).
Spoiler A sneak peak of Italian peninsula and Anatolia with the new civs :

- Castilla & Cordoba receives the Jinete, a skirmisher Horseman with great defense and a ranged attack.
- France receives the Paladin, a Knight with a bonus HP.
- England receives the Longbowman, a cheaped and even more offensive Medieval Infantry.
- The Celts receives the Pictish Swordsman, a faster Swordsman.
- Burgundy receives the Coustillier, a mounted late-game very potent attacker and skirmisker.
- Germany receives the Teutonic Knight, Crusader with more attack.
- The Magyars receives the Hussar, a very fast mounted raider replacing the Knight.
- Poland receives the Woskjo, a Swordsman with two bonus HP, cheaper in shields but costing pop.
- The Bulgars receives the Bogomil Priest, an earlier Inquisitor with Stealth, Stealth Attack, Hidden Nationality & Enslave into a new Bogomil Priest.

This seems awesome ! I cant wait to load this up.

Your additions seem very interesting, particularly your new civs

It would be nice to see a few screenshots from your mod
Thank you for the suggestion, I just added a few images here and there and it makes it more alive.

Nothing visually revolutionnary tho: I build from the existing map, using Base & Sengoku units, without texture packs... Most of the work went into balance & civilopedia writing.
