Milking... the conversation

If any HoFamer ever finds themself around the Carolinas, I'm game for lunch...

I would try to search for Israelis, but I don't think searching in the "Location" of each user will be efficient, and not many tourists come here the last few years (yes, since they are paranoid schizoid)

Just for anyone that doesn't know, that picture isn't superslug ;) That is "Lefty Scaevola" (another poster)
And here I was thinking I was the only HoFer that ever went 'downstairs'. :( I'm not really sure if Lefty qualifies as just "another poster"...

Anyway, I don't usually post pics of myself online, but I don't get the feeling any of you are FBI agents, so what the hell? It's not a great shot, but I don't have that many pictures of myself...

What part of Carolina do you live in? I live in Southern Pines N.C. south of Raleigh.

For half the year, it's not so nice, but I find it kind of exciting not knowing whether or not it'll be warm and 60 or five inches of snow. This, on the other hand, is the better half of the year and there's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be.

Then again, there was this one corner shop in Amsterdam...

Vacations are a whole 'nother story. Vegas is just too cool, although I'd also like to go to Paris again. As far as places I haven't gone, I'd love to get to spend time in New Zealand, Singapore or visit Brazil and spend time in Rio.

ARHG! Frances flooded my workplace and I got transferred to another city for a week. I went back hoping I could go back to work in my hometown and Ivan flooded my workplace even worse! The company is covering my hotel, food and gas but I can't play Civ! I should have brought my computer with me!

Where did everyone disappear to this weekend?

Is that a question, or just another way of saying "It's real quite around here at the moment."? :mischief:.

I've been visiting my Mum/Brother (as usual). I seem to have gone back to lurker mode recently though, and I don't have so much internet access from here now that I've had to give my work laptop back. Hopefully I'll be getting myself a new one of those soon... ;)

Wow that's a long weekend :D

Thanks for reviving this thread. It's a very interesting read.

@ Dianthus ~ What was the final rating for Snow Crash? I've got a couple of others to suggest to you as well but I need to be at home to look at the titles and authors.

reading this thread made me go and check if there is any date for book 11 of Wheel of Time yet.. and there actually is.. 'Knife of Dreams' is due out Oct 11th 2005..
Talk about dragging it out.. almost 3 years after book 10 :p
