Milltary alliance help

i made a embassy with a peaceful civ...and did a deal for milltary alliance for 20 turns against an enemy civ at war, and he accepted.

when i am attacking this enemy at war...my miltary alliance civ did not help me at all to fight the enemy.

why i tought he is suppose to help u battle the enemy?

maybe your ally is too militarily weak.. no extra troops to attack.. try ally with aggressive civ like germany or japan for example. those war freaks may help u

But even if your ally stays calm, your enemy could not trade with yor ally, so you have at least a small benefit. Plus, your ally might buy another civ into war. (Well, if your ally is just too weak, it sometimes turns around into a gang-up against your ally...)
