Hello every body! please help me to help you. :D
I have been working on some WWII units, these are not modifications of existing units or imports from other games, they are originals. That means I have to do the 3d modeling and capturing and then turnit all in to animations! this take time and I am trying to do several projects at once as well as live my life.
If I post the animations here can some one help with the sounds etc. so that they can be turned in to something people can actualy use in Civ III.
To start with I am going to post a zip with my T34/75 (short barreled version of the T34) animations in it. There is a fidget (the turret makes 5 degree turns first right then left. this could also be used for default animation) and an attack animation. (the gun fires twice per loop). I am working on the death and run animations (run is easy but death, the tank will flip up on to one side, is going to take time).
I am also working on a british churchill tank (std and crocodile versions) and a mobile infantry unit (guys in a truck).
here is the zip.

previews
I know how every one likes a preview of the graphics ( it can take a while to download an item and some time it is just not worth the result) so here is a little pis of some of my units.
they are @the size they would be as game graphics (low res) so if yo have any suggestions please make them. Some one thought that the hatches and spare tracks looked like odd snow, but they are just a different colour so that you can tell its a t34 ( the twin hatches led to the t34/75 being called the "micky mouse" by german infantry, because of how they looked when open.
I am going to improve the model for the infantry soldiers that go with the truck, these are just a stand in (sit in) to give a feel of what they would look like. I am using corel 3d, that come with corel photopaint 8 (lousy for making humans but good for mechanical design.
so then the t34, desert coloured churchill, churchill ARVE/crocodile (with flame thrower) and mobile infantry:

Cheers! I have been puting off the actual technical stuff of actualy making the units but today I gave it a try and it is easier than I thought. I even managed to get other peoples units to work in my own games! But I am still having trouble with some things, for example I can't get my attack animation to apear when it should. It is in the right place but all that happens is the standard animation plays over and over again :(

any way, hopefully I should get all the bugs worked out and have some exelent WWII units ready for use with patch V1.21f.

Here is a picture of the Russian infantry I am going to use with the mobile infantry (I may even animate him as an individual unit, it would be a shame to lose all that detail cos in the truck he is gonna be very small!):
