Hi All,

Well, as you can see my mimics have a bit of a problem with the size of the info box. They just steal too many promotions to show all of them. :D
Does anyone know if its possible to see the rest of the promotions of this mimic ?
For info, this is a me versus the rest of the world game and it has been almost constant war. Actually the war weariness was so high in my capital that I had to switch to nationhood AND despotism to get rid of the

A very big thank you to the team for making the best mod.

Yipe! Don't let that thing near me!
Well...that many promotions can only really happen with mimics....and you can see all relevant info elsewhere. The only thing you're really missing out on would be seeing what other excessive promotions it might have. Not to big of a loss...I guess.
Congrats on making that scary unit. I suddenly feel the urge to play more Balseraph games. Them and the Calabim have really fun champion types. Wish other civs could be more unique...

Good Lord! I had a Beastmaster with 646 XP and it didn't come even close to having this many promotions.

I didn't think Mimics stole promotions with every combat and there must have been some duplication in the battles. This Mimic must have been in a ton of battles!

Wow, that is amazing. That makes me want to play some Balseraph games too. Whew. That unit is invincible!

Maybe the real lesson though is that the chance of stealing a promotion needs to be decreased. No unit that can have that many promotions can be remotely balanced.

Oh, it's balanced. That unit had to be nurtured for a long time to gain that kind of power, but it could still be taken out with a few ring of flames, maelstroms, or pillars of fire and a good group of sacrificial units (tier 3 summons would not be to difficult to have given how long it must have taken to build that unit). Lower its health enough and all those percentages don't add up to too much anymore.

Eh, no thats not going to happen. Most of my mimics also stole some promotions from the nullstone golems. And they happen to have the magic immune promotion. :D
Hm, that would be a nice experiment, to see what it would need to take one of them down.

Maybe the real lesson though is that the chance of stealing a promotion needs to be decreased. No unit that can have that many promotions can be remotely balanced.

:nono: Look at how long I played this game, its over 700 turns. And the former poster is correct in that you have to nurture them alot. Try it out and see.

You don't see the point. He needs to see when it has every (beneficial) promotion, then it will be upgraded to an immortal. Immortal who can cast all mage spells for example...

EDIT: I actually have had some of these problems with some heroes. Namely Basium, Brigit, Eurabatres and Hyborem.

Yes, thats right. Like this former mimic, has over 1500 xp.
Only problem is when to decide to upgrade a mimic to an immortal or to wait longer and try and steal more promotions.

I had a mimic that was mutated with a bunch of positive bonuses, I named him Jimmy, and he was crazed, he was so good that I sent him out to constantly kill barbarians so he wouldn't turn barbarian, but eventually Jimmy did, but he turned his attention towards Khazad. He took one of their cities and they were never able to get it back. It was funny, it wasn't until about 200 turns later did I realize that Jimmy was still in the game, it was a nice surprise. I didn't have the heart to kill Jimmy, so I just let him rule his barb city.

Let's bear in mind that this game has already lasted 723 turns and there are still 16 opponents out there. Not a typical game, for me anyway.

More than getting extra space, what is needed is to prune the information displays. Like all of the Double Movement entries could be placed on a single line (Double Movement in Forests, Hills, ....), the announcement for Amphibious (no penalty attacking across Rivers, and from Ocean) can be combined into a single line. With some very tricky codework some of the bonuses which are variable could be lumped together as well (+10% Tundra and Jungle Strength).

And of course the other possibility is to leave things overannounced as they are and figure out a way in which to have the list "Spill over" into a second (and third/fourth) column. Though that one is quite tricky itself I imagine.

Dont bother too much with tricky codework, the post was more meant to be fun than a serious demand/request.

Although it would be nice to see all of the promotions. I had this idea that maybe you could zoom in on your unit and it would bring you to some sort of page in the style of the pedia.
In this kind of layout there is room enough to list all expansions. Maybe it could even turn into a history page of the unit, which states all its battle's and which kind of units it had defeated.

Another possibility would be to limit the number of promotions available to mimics to something more easily handled, like, oh say 24 or so. And have old promotions get swapped out and replaced by the freshly acquired ones.

Maybe this is too much of a nerf, but to me it fits the idea of a mimic better. They should copy the most recently defeated foes, not assimilate everything they have ever beaten. Right now, they are not mimics, they are the Borg!

He's not in last place, he's in second place. And his score is better than any one of his competitors.

The main reason that the score of the AI is so bad is of the constant war.
The war weariness for them is over 1700 !!! Most of their city's are not bigger than size 3/4 just because of all the angry citizens. And for info, all the AI's are in one team against me.

I can recommend all of you to try this once, just for fun. Oh, Erebus map script recommended with just one acces route into your main valley.

I found that in .33 the info panel is somwhat small. Or maybe not effectivelly used. Even unit with few promotions and >100 xps got textoverflow in exprerience line. Hard to read when he will get next level then!

Very minor annoyance though.
