Minecraft

I still think creepers should be around layers 1-19. Its frustrating to have your buildings bombarded repeatedly by incoming creepers.

Just played some Minecraft with my new PC. It. Is. FAST!

Max settings gives about 220 FPS (120FPS when generating terrain).
Min settings (with MaxFPS) saw a 1006 FPS output!
Min settings without MaxFPS - 40 FPS.

The mouse wheel seems a little sensitive compared to my other one. Although, that could be 8 years worth of dust.

What are the specs of your new PC?

P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3
Intel i7-2600K
16 GB RAM
nVidia GTX 580 (1.5 Gigs RAM)
Win 7

I even set Minecraft to use more memory than the 1 Gig it allocates. Very nice for that one TNT City map out there. I've never seen so much TNT explode that smoothly!

Found an interesting seed. Type in "Pistons!" (without the quotes) for a nearby ravine. This ravine has multiple inter-connected ravines, and several branching caves, plus a spawner.

Best island ever! Also has a number of connecting ravines under the village.

1867169 is a neat seed. It spawns you right inside an NPC house near a large swamp and some tall mountains, perfect for building an epic castle overlooking the village.

I have a world which was generated a few versions ago (I think it was 1.4 or something). Obviously the parts (like in chunks) of the world which have already been generate because I've been there won't be altered (no ravines suddenly in my man made cave). But let say I construct a portal, travel to the nether world and travel a 1000 blocks in the X direction, construct another portal and travel to the normal world. Would that part possibly have ravines and NPC villages?

Any new chunks will have the new terrain generator's effects, I believe.

Yes, that's how it works. Croxis deleted all the unused chunks on the Server, so they could regenerate with 1.0 terrain.

Why do you have a golden hoe?

Eh, earlier this year I realized I had enough gold I could use just gold for all my tools and it would last me at least two months. Besides, you can only have so many gold & lapis swimming pools, fountains, and other.

Yes, and you would have lost. For what I had left to build and what else I may or may not have used them for too I had plenty of gold (it was more than one full stack of gold blocks). Not too mention I soon found an exploit that gave me infinite gold.
