minimum requirements not met?

When i load the game, it says my system is below the minimum requirements, which is not true (i own an AMD sempron 1.4 computer, with 512MB RAM and a 128 MB GeForce MX 4000).

The problem is, the game will only set the graphics quality to medium or high after restarting, and that´s when i get the "below mininum requirements" message and it automatically changes everything back to low detail again.

Does anyone know if there´s any way to fix this?
Thanks!

Goto "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CivilizationIV.ini" and look for this line:

; Don't show minimum specification warnings
HideMinSpecWarning = 0

Change 0 to 1 and save. It gets rid of the popup and should stop changing your graphics settings.

I followed your way but I only found CivilizationIV.ini.bak which I cannot open.There is also"Civilization configuration settings" with several lines but no HideMinSpec.

Rename the file and get rid of the .bak extension. It means it's a backup.
