June 1804
Fedelista rifflemen keep pushing New Fedelista farther back. The cannons had been pummeling Ibana for several weeks now, but somehow the rebel movement has survived. After about two weeks of constant bombardment, the goverment forces finally entered Ibana, albeit slowly at first. Urban warfare ensued as the Eastern side of town became ravaged by fighting. The whole time, New Fedelista officials moved supplies behind the front to Ibana's west side. For the next two weeks, the battle lines remained in the middle of the town. Fedelistan forces have lost 800 men, but New Fedelista loses 300 rifflemen, 100 grenaiders, and 200 musketmen as well. It seemed as if the movement was over, until a strange force appeared on the hills behind Ibana. The 1000 Alariqua rifflemen have finally arrived.
In Encoré, Dela Vega's new book becomes a best seller. His novel on the injustices of the Fedelista goverment is second only to the bible, making Dela Vega 5000 credits richer.. Some voulenteers are so inspired they drive oxen carts full of the books to Sliqua and San Speakor, where they plan to sell them in secret. However, the good times look to be over. Juan Vargas is enraged and has sent 2000 rifflemen to Encoré. The citizens have heard about what's been happening to the South in Ibana, and they have busily fortified their town. Several hundred musketmen join the cause.
In Pepsi, Miquel Reccano travels to the busy city with 350 voulenteers and holds giant protests, preaching to the people. Posters appear throughout the town, and fliers are handed out. The result is hundreds of voulenteers and a hell of a lot of cash. However, several soldiers, alarmed at the reaction he's getting from the peasentry, proceed to kick him out of Pepsi. The goverment is still unaware of who Miguel Riccano is, although they're getting increased complaints from tax collectors in the Dela Matteo area. There are news that Vargas will send a squadron to Dela Matteo to enforce the peace.
However, the moment Riccano leaves, mass confusion ensues. 300 dragoons rush into the city, and pillage and steal as much funds as they can. The soldiers in the city manage to kill 50 of them, but the remaining 250 return to their frigate with 10,000 credits. Another 10,000 credits are recireved from a shady looking foreigner in an abandonned pub, but most nobody knows of this. They set sail towards Vargas isle.
Back on Vargas isle, mass confusion reigns in Aha. Both rebel groups raid the banks and take all the goverment funds left. This results in huge bonuses for both of them, but more for the Freedom Legion who are more knowledgable of the city. The whole island is now split between the two groups.
In the hills around San Peppera, the last major battle of the goverment's initial anti- El Volum campaign draws to a close. The Fedelistan troops get ready for a battle on the hills, but soon find out that the rebels had snuck down to their level, where a major battle ensues. Amidst all the confusion, 300 fedelistans and 100 rebels die. 20 batteries are captured by El Volum who parades his army through the joyous streets of San Peppera. The wealthy merchant populace hold huge parties and celebrations in their mansions with plenty of food and tequilla. Many men were rendered ineffective for a few days from it, but are now back to full health. As a result of the battle, El Volum has gained ownership of most all of Southern Fedelista. Thanks to excessive donations, he's now out of debt too!
