The new mayor has hired hundreads of farmers in for his own business, this has boosted the employment rate of the city, raising the popuklarity poll of the new mayor to 67%. He has also sold his crops in the local markets selling large quantities.

Katikistan gears up for more confrontation with Almastan. Katikistan has bought a destroyer from Russian arms dealers. The new destroyer has been put on patrol around the harbor to defend against any attacks. Mercenaries from Russia are also agreed upon in the deal. This had left Katiistan with no money. They immediatly began a tax on fishing. This has led to a stedy increase in income, but it has left fisherman angry. In othernews, Almastan ships have been preped in Almatir and have begun sailing towards Katikistan but it has been slowed(see below). Regiment A has also arrived and has set up defensive positions south of Katikistan.

UPRISING ON HIMDREI ISLAND! After propaganda spread throughout the island by the communist forces, nearly half of the populace has begun to speak out against the populace. Several hundread police also join against the government. The police sysytem completly shut down in one day leaving total chaos. The millitary forces on the island were brought in and have restored pesace on the island. But they have been cut off from both port towns(see below). They have taken poisitions outside of the towns but have been unable to enter without heavy fighting. The navy has now been dispatched to relieve the ports.

They inadvertantly became Himar's protectors when they established a control in the town. They were caught up in the battle between police and citizens. After the citizens won, they looked to the Liberty Party as Garrison B approaches the town.

The uprising had occured! With the polteriat rising against the oppressors, the People's Republic was on its way to victory. All that remained now were some minor garrison forces and the capitalist pigs that had occupied Himar. Now Nabar would strike a blow against the fascist military and gain even further support for his growing faction.

It was a madhouse of activity in the Liberty Party headquarters. It would've been hectic anyways, considering elections in Kabal were quickly approaching; however, adding in the consideration of defending a town by military force and the threats from the socialist republic that was quickly growing in Hedrai... it would've made lesser people lose their cool. While a madhouse of activity, the Liberty Party headquarters was an organzined, focused chaos. People were printing posters, organzing last minute campaign funding, preparing for speeches and debates, and generally going about the business needed to win the mayoral and city council elections in Kabal.
Yet, a few floors up in that building, above that chaos was Stephen Browne. He looked over reports and letters that he had recieved in the past few days. Many were letters of support or differing people and organizations asking for tax breaks and special consideration should the Liberty Party win the elections. There was one report and one letter that troubled him and he pondered on these carefully in an effort to discern how to proceed. He then proceeded to write several letters of his own.

I have nothing that I can offer you, but I believe that we both hold a mutual respect for the rights of people and that stopping Prime Minister Kell is in both our interests. I shall be dispatching a corvette to protect the Himar harbor, I sincerly hope you will send your destroyer to do the same.

The city is beggining to feel the effects of the war however as supplies begin to wear thin. Reports of supplies held by the Almastan Regiment brings news to Katik high command. The RKS Liberty sails south(look below)

The People's Republic gears up for war. Tunnels and shealters are built all throughout Hedrai and the nearby hills. The new police militia of Hedrai begin to launch gureilla war against Garrison B. The Garrison is lured into an ambush just north of Hedrai. 100 Mercenaries attacked Garrison B. The Garriosn scattered and was destroyed. The People's Republic took casualties but many farmers join the cause.

ELECTION TIME!! WOOO! Well the campaigning and fundraising didn't pay off well in the end. only 4 of the 9 council seats lie in Liberty Party Hands, and the mayor was voted in from a differnt party. But this was not all for naught as the Liberty party has bigger problems. In Himar, Liberty Party troops launched a unordered attack on Garrison A. The Mercenaries destroyed the garrison completly lossing 100 of their own in the suprise attack. Funraising and donations helps the cash problem. Also many farmers from Himar join.

NAVAL BATTLE
OOC:A naval battle took place involving all last three nations, so i put it under a new bold thing
The Almastan Navy sped towards Himdrei. All 3 Corvettes of the navy was the flotilla. They broke off into two groups to cover both groups. 1 Corvette headed towards Hedrai. There it desroyed a PT Boat seemingly tring to escape the port. The oher two Corvettes sped off to Himar. There they found a Corvette trying to protect the port. A naval battle ensued where the forced the Himar corvette into a cove. There they pounded it until near destruction. Suddenly the Katik Destroyer shot a warning shot across the bow of a Corvette. The Corvettes didn't retaliate and retreated, unharmed to Hedrai. Hedrai has now been blockaded and outside supplies no longer arrive as well as the fishermen can't work. If the Republic can free the port, the fishermen have pledged to join with the Republic navy. Meanwhile cheers ring out in Himar and Katear as they celebrate victory.

The corvette, just sitting in the harbor of Hedrai, occasionally even firing shots into the town, was a iron door on communism. The fascists couldnt keep the populace couped up for long and Nabar had a plan to remove this door.

It was a day of sadness inside the Liberty Party headquarters. The party members were sullen at their moderate success. While it could be pointed out that electing in four city council members in the first term of the party's existance was a great success, it was not nearly to the level of accomplishment that many had expected. Meanwhile Stephen Browne was mourning the loss of one hundred brave fighters that died for the cause of liberty.

The first real harvest is beginning for the year, the second one happening in October. With over a thousand farmers employed, Mayor Beranon is the largest landowner in Almastan. He produces thousands of pounds of food which will be ready to sell next month. This is what the men from tasar have come for. Their farm lands are poor and without roads to the capital they recieve little supplies. The people will starve this spring without food. They ghave no money to pay Mayor Beranon with either. THey require half of the harvest to feed the people, this will seriously cut back on the mayor's income, but it may give him a strong powerbase in Tasar.

The Regiment digs in more and supplies grow thiner within the city. The president becomes ill from flu.
People's Republic of Almastan
The harvest approaches as well in Hedrai, but there are more pressing issues. The Corvettes continue to patrol the waters and are supplied by PT Boats from the capital, so they have no need to dock. The People's Republic attempts to launch RPG attacks are useless as they do not have the range needed. The blockade continues. And fishermen grow angry. To the North, the remains of the garrison are beggining to mobilize and move towards the shores on the West. This is an excelent place for them to escape.

Farmers begin to sell their crops and donate some earnings to the party. Within the city Legislature, the Liberty party tries to pass new laws, but few pass. Some of the Parties backers demand action to gain power. One such backer comes from Edmond Hughs, a British banker who supplies the Liberty party with most of it's outside fuinding, and Geroge Caralson, a British armsdealer who supplies the Liberty Party with most of it's weapons.

Another leader from British decent arises west of Nassam in the border town of Besa. Charles Adraden is also half Nassam. He claims that the decent of the people around Lake Nassam are actually a whole other ethinic group called the Nassamites from a mixed Zazar, Alma and Katik decent. Several merchents and politicians have joined with Charles Adraden. However the main populace still believe that they are Zazars and nothing more and they resent the fact that the Almas rule over them, and will not accept a "Nassamite" ruler either. Many protests have occured in Besa ordering for Charles Adraden and his fanatical band to leave the city immediatly. The mayor might just have to comply. The Republic arms itself in preparation for a battle.

In Gula, a spainish merchent begins his rise to the top. He quickly a masses a large militia under his control. He is unable to sell many crops do to lack of farmers. He thinks about the Drugfields to the southeast, and so he sends his militia to capture it. The Druglord merly has his drug farmers armed to fight and they are no match and are over run. The Drugfield falls under his control. The drugs are the perfect thing to start an empire with. Towns will offer little, but cities will be great selling places. If he can even get some boats and ship it, he could make even more money.

The first real harvest is beginning for the year, the second one happening in October. With over a thousand farmers employed, Mayor Beranon is the largest landowner in Almastan. He produces thousands of pounds of food which will be ready to sell next month. This is what the men from tasar have come for. Their farm lands are poor and without roads to the capital they recieve little supplies. The people will starve this spring without food. They ghave no money to pay Mayor Beranon with either. THey require half of the harvest to feed the people, this will seriously cut back on the mayor's income, but it may give him a strong powerbase in Tasar.

The Regiment digs in more and supplies grow thiner within the city. The president becomes ill from flu.
People's Republic of Almastan
The harvest approaches as well in Hedrai, but there are more pressing issues. The Corvettes continue to patrol the waters and are supplied by PT Boats from the capital, so they have no need to dock. The People's Republic attempts to launch RPG attacks are useless as they do not have the range needed. The blockade continues. And fishermen grow angry. To the North, the remains of the garrison are beggining to mobilize and move towards the shores on the West. This is an excelent place for them to escape.

People's Republic can no longer buy Mercenaries, APCs, Tanks, Corvettes or Destroyers.
Army of the Liberty Party
Farmers begin to sell their crops and donate some earnings to the party. Within the city Legislature, the Liberty party tries to pass new laws, but few pass. Some of the Parties backers demand action to gain power. One such backer comes from Edmond Hughs, a British banker who supplies the Liberty party with most of it's outside fuinding, and Geroge Caralson, a British armsdealer who supplies the Liberty Party with most of it's weapons.

Republic of Nassam
Another leader from British decent arises west of Nassam in the border town of Besa. Charles Adraden is also half Nassam. He claims that the decent of the people around Lake Nassam are actually a whole other ethinic group called the Nassamites from a mixed Zazar, Alma and Katik decent. Several merchents and politicians have joined with Charles Adraden. However the main populace still believe that they are Zazars and nothing more and they resent the fact that the Almas rule over them, and will not accept a "Nassamite" ruler either. Many protests have occured in Besa ordering for Charles Adraden and his fanatical band to leave the city immediatly. The mayor might just have to comply. The Republic arms itself in preparation for a battle.

Gula Freedom Front
In Gula, a spainish merchent begins his rise to the top. He quickly a masses a large militia under his control. He is unable to sell many crops do to lack of farmers. He thinks about the Drugfields to the southeast, and so he sends his militia to capture it. The Druglord merly has his drug farmers armed to fight and they are no match and are over run. The Drugfield falls under his control. The drugs are the perfect thing to start an empire with. Towns will offer little, but cities will be great selling places. If he can even get some boats and ship it, he could make even more money.

OOC: I was just curious if it would be possible to get a schedule as to when mayoral and city council elections occur in different cities in Almastan? Specifically Kanar, Matar, and Tika? If you don't want to get that formalized with the story, I understand, I just thought it'd be useful to know, as any good politician such as Stephen Browne would have an understanding of the election days that occur and plan his strategy accordingly.

OOC: I accidentally put down the wrong city as my base when I was looking at the map while I was deciding my faction. Would it be OK if I relocated to the one I intended to put down (Nassam)? If not, I'll just weather out things in Bessa.

Adraden had apparently hired a cheap guide and had too much to drink for the last few days, for when he awoke he was not being adored by crowds in Nassam, but pelted with vegetables in some busstop-of-a-town called Bessa. He decided to pack up and leave Bessa and head for Nassam. He encouraged his Bessite supporters to come with him "for fear I might lose you to lynch mobs," as he told them.

-Head for Nassam and see if Adraden and his associates can't gain a position in local politics there.
-Repeat sponsorship requests in Nassam.
-Purchase as much farmland outside Nassam as 1200 credits can get me and sell the crops.
-Purchase 1 Light Tank (10=2500 creds., so 1 must=250 creds.)
