MinionNESs I: A New Beginning

no seriously. Tomorrow's a half day, so if I don't get an update in, may I get struck by lightning

Update, 3600 B.C.

In a sad century, many of the world's finest empires die away. Through a vast number of forest fire's and simple overhunting, the Germans die off. Their leader dies relatively early on and is buried in the center of the city called Berlin. There he would stay in a magnificent temple, relatively unknown for a very long time. In the Western hemisphere, the Floridians annex even more surrounding tribes, but encounter a multitude of diseases. Within years, Orlando is nothing but a pile of rubble.

Elsewhere however, civilization is still flourishing. In the Hawaiian islands, the Hawaiians again attempt to colonize the far off lands. The coconuts are boarded onto the many boats, along with spears and cloth and milk and all other necessary supplies. Also on the boat, Kameha II, son of the great King Kameha. The warriors depart, but not much is heard of them for a long time. During the interval, more expansion is launched in the West, where almost the whole chain of Hawaiian islands is secured. Finally, once this is achieved, yet another group of sailors come back from the far off colony. They say that they have established a city there, Tangaloa, and that things are going fairly well. He warns however, that the Hawaiians will need to build an actual fleet if they wish to go any further in their colonizing.

In Morroco, the Almohads increase their army and expand farther on the outter edges of their empire. This shocks the Moors, who were excpecting a swift counterattack, and they seize the chance to regroup. Now, a small army of Moors is heading South on camelback towards Almohad lands.

In England, a confident English king summons his wariors and commands them to cross the tiny strip of water between his country and the mainland. The people are very energetic, but good intentions can only get you so far when you don't have any actual navy. Most try to swim and drown. The majority of the 3rd army does. Those few that were able to go on the boats make a small colony in a land called Gaul.

Along the Danube, meetings of Celtic druids become common occurance. The Celtic culture is now probably the best in the world, and their relations with other countries are excellent, although this only consists of the Gaullic Celts. Recent trading expeditions to Gaul have shown that the Gauls now consist of a series of tribes throughout the land, having expanded much since the days when the two celts first met. Meanwhile, back on the home front, a tribe calling themselves the "Goths" appears close to the border.

In Arabia, life progresses quietly. Still no news of the Northern civilization although the rumors are more persistent than ever. A new city called Hiyzai was established to the North of Mecca, and trading between the two is common. The construction of more mosques raises Arabic culture, and the recent discovery that metals are plentiful around Hiyazi allows the Arabs to build a type of archer never before seen in the world.

In Central asia, the Tuvans construct a city under the great leaders, Ta-Jny and Gios. They settle their people together at a lush oasis in the middle of otherwise rough terrain, and abandon their nomadic lifestyle. Within years, they're a tiny bastion of civilization in an otherwise empty land. They even have a small standing army, although their economy is horrible.

Yet farther East in China, the Chinese expand along the Yanghtze and established small outposts along the way. The situation with the people is relatively back to normal with the increased econom, and China seems to be on it's way to smooth sailing. Tales arise of a large island to the East on which live a warrior race, but most don't listen. Speaking of which...

War rages in the Japanese islands. With a raised economy behind him, Shogun Shogun launches an offensive at his neighbors to the West, the Mori. The tiny clan struggles to put together a defense, but do so in the nick of time. They valiantly hold off the first Japanese army, but the second Japanese army breaks them. The Japanese now control most of Mori territory.

In Egypt, the Egyptians devise a way to put the horses to use. They use them to pull their supplies along the desert and expand. Many applaud this new method, and the Egyptians quickly gain new territory. Some people start to get the idea that if they were to perhaps have the horses pull some sort of cart into which archers and other cool things could fit into, then they would really have something. Otherwise, Judea and Egypt now have formal relations, and the Egyptian economy is one of the wealthiest in the world.

In North America, the death of the Hurons is final. Detroit troops are quite simply superior to their neighbors, and soon all hurons are part of the Detroit empire. What's worse for the conquered, is that their status as a delicacy has drove them to the brink of exctinction. A city called Mackinack Island is established to the North, and Detroit culture is greatly increased as well, but a cost to the economy.

In Italia, Rome becomes the first civilization with a navy. Loosely built boats with several rowers transport Roman troops to the neighboring island of the SouthWest. They name it Sicily, and establish a town of the same name in the center. Some ground is also made to the North, but nothing significant. Tales of an advanced barbarian civilization to the North first appear.

In SouthEast Europe, the Byzantines become the most advanced fishing people in the world. Tiny boats go from one side of the Bosphorus to the other daily, and soon Constantinople is split into two parts. Upper Constantinople, where the goverment resides, and Lower Constantinople, where much of the population lives. In Anatolia, a great battle rages between the Lydians and Byzantines. Through superior tactics and a bit of luck, the Byzantines manage to push back the Lydians from their lands, and even make ground into Lydia. Elsewhere, the lone remaining Byzantine army starts to expand around the Black Sea.

World Map - 3600 B.C.E.

China:

All things were well in the Third Kingdom. The recent advent of cattle, hillside terracing, and a new strain of rice has caused the population to soar. In fact, it was nearly overflowing. The people were wandering into the neighboring lands looking for a place to settle. Bob had small bands of militia easily defeat the local tribes and the people began to spread.

The huge surpluses in food allowed for many peole to settle in cities and become trained in various skills. Small schools sprung up in cities to promote learning. One of the first Chinese technological developments was the discovery of the usefulness of a local metal - copper. With it the Chinese army was stronger than ever. Another was the wheel, an important tool that made labor much easier.

The recent growth in city size and skilled populace has lead to a boom in the economy. Traders from all over the Yangtze Valley are trading goods, which has lead to the advent of "coinage". All is well.

Orders:
-Expand in all directions
-send southern army down the Yangtze for larger expansion there

Egypt

The expansion was going quite well in the desert thanks to Saladins genius plan with the carvan. But he thought it could be improved somehow. They had used sleds to carry supplys but he imagined a circular tool that the horses could carry the supplies with much more ease and smoothness. He would call it the wheel.
This would also have a military use he and others decided as the inventions could carry archers and such.

Orders

increase economy by mining in various places
expand west along the Mediterranean and southwest and southeast with caravans build small towns along the way
research wheel making, longspears, and battle axes
