Minor Audio Issue - No Narration

I feel almost bad asking about this because I seem to be one of the few who doesn't have a problem with the actual gameplay. But for some reason I don't have Nimoy's narration at the opening sequence for the game. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there a fix for it?

I also get a message "txt_key_invalid_playback_title" for an error when the game begins, which I suppose could be similarly associated with it.

Thanks in advance!

(I should probably also add that my game didn't play music until I directed it to the folder with Civ4's music contained in it. After that it appeared to work just fine.)

Jack,

I have a like issue. When I first launch CIV4, the opening 2K, Firaxis, and CIV4 intros are all choppy - both audio & video. But, the actual gameplay has been great for me. I logged about 3 hours yesterday, between the tutorial and a quick single player game.

Since my ASUS A7N8X-E Mobo has a conflict with newer AGP 8X video cards, the only thing I can run in it is an old ASUS GeForce 2 400 - which just meets the minimum specs to play CIV4. I do have 1 GB of PC3200 RAM, though, so I'm sure that helps.

I am using the latest drivers from Nvidia - 81.85. Sometimes, it can be useful to use OLDER drivers than the latest release. From my experience, newer drivers are not always better on different machines. Until I experience an actual problem with gameplay (knock on wood), I'm sticking with what I have!

Nimoy's narration is actually part of the MP3 file. So if the loading music is somehow disabled during "world creation," you won't hear Leonard either. Conversely, if you get the Civ theme (original Civ 1 theme!! yeah!!), you ought to hear Leonard reciting the Civ 1 world creation text.

Oopsie! I actually have the narration, I just didn't notice it because the world gets built well before he starts talking, apparently. I just had to sit around a bit beforehand. Thanks for the help!

(The music still isn't working, though, unless I do the soundtrack directory change which, apparently, turns off age specific music -which sucks-) Oh, well. It's working, so I'll not complain. Too much, anyway. :)
