This is for use if you want Missiles as the Defense animation against ICBMs rather than using the Laser for SDI.

This was made from the CIV III "Default.flc" found in the Animations/SDI Folder.
I remade the missiles so they would appear to "Hit the ICBM" at the hight where the ICBM is destroyed.
The Missiles are Mirror images of the West Missile in order to correct the
Game animation for the East Missile and I added the Silo opening to both missiles.
I mixed the Missile sound so it has two missiles.

EDIT: I Re-Uploaded the Zip File to correct the EAST Silo that had a Jump in the animation...Preview ic also corrected.

To use place the enclosed SDI Folder in your Art/Animations Folder of your MOD or Scenario and use in place of the Normal Game SDI.

Great. Allways need new stuff for the animations-folder. This is going to my mod. Unfortunally anims like this are hard to test in-game. I`ve got no save where a nuke war happens. Any suggestions how I can have a look (in-game) at it?
Animations like this are seldom. So a special thanks for making this.

btw, does the missile have a name?
 
General 666... To check out the animation effect in game, save your Scenario Biq in a separate folder and make a copy of it for use.

Open this new scenario Biq and Pre-place one or more of your ICBMs on your Map for what ever CIV you want to test it as.

Give another CIV SDI that they have from the start of the game.

Play this Scenario as the CIV you gave the ICBM unit to and Test it by trying to Nuke the CIV with SDI :)

The Missiles do not have a name because this is not a Unit. It is an animated Effect for Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) that will be played when an ICBM is destroyed over a City by this Defense System.

Another Note: You do not have to call a system SDI where you want to use this animation. In EFZI2, the Zombies "Test Lab" (Set as a Wonder) has a Missile Defense System and it is Flagged in the Editor to Decreases Success of Missile Attacks by 75%.
 
Nice! Now this reminds me: I need to make a "Holy" animation (which could also probably be used for the "dispell magic" effect in the Warhammer mod) for intercepting "Meteor" in the FF mod.......

Vuldacon... Thanks for the advise. Will try this.

Something I forgot to ask in my first post: Can I use your flc for the SAM interception animation also? (The one which is in the folder ...art\animations\SAM\...) After renaming of course.
 
Generall 666... Yes, you could use the animation for what ever you want if you name and place it correctly. You could simply adjust the .ini file for the SAM Folder you use in your Game and or change the Flc and sound names.

The CIV Game SAM animation uses one missile as you know and although this Missile SDI animation uses two missiles, they do not Fly as High and are more centered in order to have them Hit the ICBM when used to destroy them.
 
I think these would be perfect in TCW. As incoming ICBM's were a very real threat (or so I've been told from my father and grandparents).

Moreso from the 1970s on. '50s/'60s would have been a much larger bomber threat.

I even have thought about adding it to some Rocket-AAA-units as well. Because you have used 2 rockets I has planed to use it for an AAA-multi-unit, but I haven`t found any AAA-multi-unit firing rockets at all.
But animations like this are allways welcome. For me at least.

I Re-Uploaded the Zip File and corrected the Preview in the 1st Post as well because the East Silo had a Jump in the animation.
...Sorry for those of you who have already downloaded the 1st zip but it is a very small file to Re-Download.
