missionaries in TAM

Hi,

Did i miss something or is it impossible to get missionaries in TAM? How do you spread religion?? Can't build any and i can't find them in the civopedia either

Apart christian religion, there are no missionaries in TAM, as historically has been.
Religions spread through adjacient cities.

I suppose i can use the shrines to add to this sprerad but no religious 'blocks' then. What spreads to others is more or less luck?

Not exactly.
Each turn there are % chances of religion spread from a city to an adjacent one.
The older religions (i.e. animism, ecc...) have a lower chance, while the newer (i.e. judaism, christian) have a higher chance.
Cities adjacent to a shrine have a higher chance of course.
