Yahoo! Questions had a sponsored question from Mitt Romney on their front page today:

That's nice, huh?

And look, thinly disguised Romney ads started appearing on Youtube as well!

Well ain't that just the darndest thing.

What is Romney polling currently? Low. In the single digits in fact.

You may be loaded, sir, but push-polls on Youtube and Yahoo are not the answer to your election woes. Try actually running on what you believe instead of lying your ass off. Or was the election where you ran against Ted Kennedy the one where you lied your ass off?

Ironic that you're trying to pull support on Youtube since it's that site more than any other that has contributed to your well-deserved image of hypocrite and panderer.

Given that Mitt Romney has fallen to fourth, and there's little difference between Giuliani and Romney on most conservative issues, I just don't see him gaining any ground.

Maybe we should change the tax code to make varmit hunting the only taxable activity.

He'd veto it. He likes vetoes.

(I'm paraphrasing from a commercial his campaign is currently running in New Hampshire.)

Onward to the 08 election mit Rommel!

Poland next! (we need a nazi smiley). Who is this guy? R/D?

Ill wiki his ass.

I think you're reaching here PP. You're attacking the guy because he bought online ads? I dont see anywhere in those answers where he called you stupid. He also hasn't "lied" about taxes, and thats what the question is about.

He's just trying to survive.

Not to mention that he'd veto it (even regardless of his affection for vetoes) just to continue his [alleged] attempt to paint himself as a "Lifelong Hunter" to court the NRA/gun-enthusiast votes. Note that in this context, "Lifelong Hunter" means "hunted once as a teen and once again last year, in order to technically enable usage of the term 'Lifelong Hunter'". :crazyeye:

Oh yeah, and when Barack Obama started his Yahoo! Answers question about how to get more people involved in the democratic process, I must admit enjoying a small twinge of schadenfreude upon noticing that on the first page of 30 answers, all but one (the very first, and possibly a plant ;) ) were varyingly critical and admonishing of the way in which politics in general are run these days. Good stuff.

I also like yours, Pontiuth Pilate. Nicely done! :goodjob:

Romney was out of the race before he even entered. His history in Massachusetts will inevitably sink any presidential ambitions, and his flipping on these issues will subsequently make it very difficult to take him seriously. As MA governor, he was pro-gay marriage and pro-choice. That's going to cost him the hard-core conservative vote. His ridiculous claims about being a life-long hunter and NRA member are just downright insulting.

What is it with Massachusetts governors and failed runs at the Presidency?

I agree. I am sure most candidates have online ads somewhere, or have occupied some other advertising niche.

What did he, kick your dog, Pontiuth?

What is the guy supposed to do with all the millions he raised?

Pontiuth, direct your hate to a R. candidate with an actual chance.

Guiliani will garner the crowd Romney is aiming for and more. I already know several Democrats on this forum who said they would cross party lines to vote for him...not necessarily the best sample, but I would see him as the biggest threat from a Democrats standpoint.

Most of the crossovers of this forum might cross over if Hillary is the D candidate, but that is about the extent of it. Hillary is the biggest threat to notgetting a D in the White House.

I saw one of those while visiting a friend at Brandeis. They're within the same TV range. It really made me not want to vote for him. It sounded as if he'd veto anything and everything.

I think PP just hates Mitt in general

People change

The internet is changing the rules of campaigning. He's not the first to use ads, and Yahoo! is just another evolution of the concept. Quit hating on the guy, direct it towards Hillary or something ;)

No, I think political ads shouldn't be disguised as push polls.

Go look at the difference between the question Romney asked on Yahoo and the question Barack asked and you'll see the difference.

Additionally I think it's rather lame to fund a political campaign out of your own pocket.

If people aren't excited about you, why are you running?

The only real candidate in the race with any kind of popular support at this time is Obama. He raised as much money as Hillary... from almost exactly twice as many donors.

Money doesn't buy votes, it only buys the voter's ear. Romney may have all the money in the world and he may even dip into his own fortune but he doesn't have a chance in hell so I don't see why he bothers.
