Does anyone else use an MMO mouse with extra side buttons? I just got a Razer one and programmed in enter, esc, space, and a few others and wow. I can fly through my civ experience one handed. It’s lightning fast once I got used to navigating the 12 buttons but it’s a lot smoother for me than going left handed on the keyboard. If you haven’t tried one highly recommend it for CiV6.

I had a corsair vengeance m95 that died a few weeks ago. Most games I used to program a lot of commands on the mouse, for some reason in Civ VI I never got used to using the mouse for anything but showing yields (y).

How did you program your buttons?

I'm currently using a vertical mouse, but I'm not actually using the extra buttons currently. Can they be programmed in game? If so, then I may go ahead and do it. I would especially like to use one of the buttons for bombard.

edit: I was able to program my mouse button 4 for skip turn (which is more useful to me than bombard), but the game doesn't seem to recognize my button 5. I'm not sure how to fix that.

I definitely use combo tricks with macro-keys (from a Logitech G910) & G602 mouse that has nine such programmable left-side buttons. Two of them are reserved for DPI fine-tuning which is a blessing when things start getting heavy for sub-optimal speed access to whatever.
All of the configurable elements are easily managed through a solid software where it took me just a few minutes to determine what to setup & how. There are some pre-coded "custom" setups too. Shortcuts & Bindings are very simple to almost memorized that way.

The (individually) colored RGB mechanical keys on the G910 help a lot as well since i can follow through reaction patterns that eventually become quick reflexes rather than somewhat slower hand/eye coordination attempts. Once everything useful has been defined.. the game pace is MUCH faster.

G602. The best ever, especially after you de-solder the horrible OMRON 20million switches and replace them with the newest 50 million switches... :D

I have heard good things about the G602. I have a razer naga chroma. It's a year or so old and it does the trick. I don't program the buttons other than assigning a key to them when clicked.

I did program in "Alt+Enter" to button 12. Great to blaze through the last few turns of the game, or when you want to take advantage of it. Although I only use that for Royal Society when I am light years ahead and don't want to wait for 18 turns once I have the 3rd tier government to start using builder charges.
