[MOD] CivMore

This is the third game I play with 0.30 the other two played right to the end. but the civs where different so maybe it has something to do with the diplomacy screen

Have you checked the new units in Extended mod and Realism 2.0?;) They could make your mod even better!:goodjob: One more thing: I noticed that free religion carries bonuses that secularism doesn't, I mean, if the state is secular, it should allow religious freedom, right? However, every time I adopt it, I get angry citizens demanding free religion. Maybe it should be changed, unless secularism (in the game)means an atheist state.

Great mod!:goodjob:

Would you consider adding a few more Asian civs in your mod? Suggestions are:

East Asia
Tibetan
Manchurian
Khitan
Uyghur
Bai

South East Asia
Vietnamese
Indonesian
Khmer
Thai

South Asia
Tamil
Telegu
Bengali
Punjabi

Checking the statistic, The vanilla has:

7 European civs (8 if including America)
3 Middle East civs
1 South Asian civ
0 South East Asian civs
3 East Asian civs
1 Sub-sahara civ
3 American civs (2 if excluding America)
0 Australian civ

The new statistic in your mod has:

15 European civs (17 if including America and canada)
7 Middle East civs
1 South Asian civs
0 South East Asian civs
4 East Asian civs
4 Sub-sahara civs
6 American civs (4 if excluding America and canada)
1 Australian civ

This certainly doesn't reflect the real population distribution in the world. Some of the civs I suggested are already created by other people so you just need to include them.

Other than that :goodjob:

I forgot I had this problem in one of my single player games earlier on....

I think one of the CivGold Civilizations has this glitch when you first meet them

I am not sure...but I didnt meet all AI civs at the time.... and it wasnt related to any construction of wonders/buildings/troops or troop/worker movement... because I toyed around with them in WB... with no luck

it maybe also when a civ was trying to contact me (to declare war/trade/peace)

I was at war with one civ at that time...

Again I am not sure but I think it was the AI opening Diplomacy chat window with one of the CivGold Civs...

(I was using only CivGold Civs as AIs at this point)

I cant remember all the AI civs but when I started a new game with some different civs I didnt get any crashes...

(and no crashes in MP btw :D )

dont know if this helps (particularly with Kimbal's crash)

but that's my opinion ;)

FYI:
I havent seen a crash at all, since I mixed up the AI civs in MP

(I maybe getting lucking and not picking the AI with the crash bug  )

I'll keep you posted

Shortly after I released 0.30, I ran into a CTD due to the art for one of the UU's not being defined properly. This may be related to that; if so, it has been fixed for the next release. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the suggestion; I've looked over them briefly, but not in too much detail. I'll take a look at them in more detail down the road, but I want to be very careful when incorporating elements from other mods, as I don't want to merely copy them, nor do I want mine to be too similar to theirs. Thanks for the suggestion.

One more thing: I noticed that free religion carries bonuses that secularism doesn't, I mean, if the state is secular, it should allow religious freedom, right? However, every time I adopt it, I get angry citizens demanding free religion. Maybe it should be changed, unless secularism (in the game)means an atheist state.
In the mod, I had intended secularism to be somewhere between free religion and an atheist state (I had originally labeled it 'Separation of Church and State' but the name was too long to fit in the civics screen). My intention was that religions where free to exist, but the followers themselves would become somewhat unhappy as their cause(s) were not represented (or at least not from their perspective). From a gameplay standpoint, I wanted it to be an option for people who didn't put too much of an emphasis on spreading religion (or who simply were unfortunate to not have discovered any and had few or none spread into their land). Do you think this could or should be represented in a different way, or simply a different title? Thanks for the input.

First off, thanks for the feed back! I'm glad you are enjoying the mod!

As far as the civilizations are concerned, I pulled all of the new civilizations directly from the CivGold modpack. Creating new civilizations is a significant amount of work, and an ongoing debate as to which ones should and shouldn't be included. As such, (at this point anyway) I plan on more-or-less sticking with whatever civs are included in CivGold. I am also looking into a couple of Amra's civ's, as they are all complete with animated leader heads, unique units, etc.

On a side note, CivGold 2.0 is currently in the works, and includes many of the civs that you have listed. The next release of CivMore (not the upcoming one) will include all of these new civs!

Thanks again for the feedback and suggestions!

It was the Albanian Kalorse. I missed it's definition in UnitArtDefines.xml when I copied them over from Civ Gold.

thx I made a temp fix so that if I chose that civ I wont get the CTD error until your next release ;)

I don't mean to be rude of anything but could you giveus an ETA on the next version, like a week or more like a fortnight?

Honestly, that depends. I've added a second UU to each of the civs, most of them original (which took me a LOT longer than anticipated, especially those last couple of civs), but I have not had a chance to set up all of the new models and skins for them.

If I simply use the existing skins, I can have the next version up within the next day or so; but if I use the new models and skins, it will take me considerably longer.

Which would you prefer? (this question applies to all readers...)

I apologize for the repeated delays, but rest assured I am making significant progress...!

WOW, I like the second UU thing.

I for one rather prefer to have existing ones and be able to do some testing on this version as soon as possible.
This way if there is some bug or something not working as it whould we can find it and take care of it sooner

I believe that new models and skins would be cool... and I wouldnt mind waiting for them.... :D

I believe the quality should outweigh the speed of the release... if the speed trumps the quality of the mod... .just my thought :crazyeye:

Hmmm... a split verdict... figures! :crazyeye: I'll tell you what, I'll get as much as I can done by the end of the week, and post whatever I have at that point. Whatever I don't get done will be done for a future release. Fair enough?

Thanks for the feedback!

sure...

cant believe no one else voted....:mischief:

at least to be the tie-breaker!

Sure, of course it will work.

And thanks again for all the time you put into this mod.

put the UU's in. I looking forward to the next release. Funny story I started a game getting ready build my 3rd city. and I just started building swordman The message come gengis khan wins religous victory . what are the conditions for winning relgous victory

Any word on the new releasse? I'd much rather have the new UU's with "stock" graphics than wait a month for new graphics. Release! Release!

I love the mod and can't wait to play more of it. I love that it just takes the stock gameplay and enhcances it, rather than outight changing it. That is why I play this mode and not Sevo's -- I find that the Sevomod changes too many things from the vanilla version. Great job thus far.

My pleasure! Thanks for the acknowledgement. It has at times been somewhat discouraging to not get quite the response that I am hoping for with the mod, particularly given the amount of time and effort that has gone into it, and it's good to know that it's not gone entirely unnoticed...

I've already got the UU's in, it's just a matter of how polished they are...

The Religious victory condition requires 75% of the world to be settled, and 51% of the population to follow a given religion. This has since been changed for the next release to require 60% (and may change again, depending on the results and concensus of the next release).

Thanks for the feedback.
