Mod Component Requests Thread

Is there a way that I can get a mod where I can make cities in water once i recieve a certain tech? and also that same tech allow water tiles to get a +1 production.So water cities arent totally useless
 
I remember that in the Chinese civ 4 version launched last year (or 2 years ago I forgot), there is a new leaderhaed name "Mr. Tang" for the chinese civ. Just wondering if it has incoroporated in the current modding system.
 
Don´t know if there are some similiar mods for bts 3.13 to those i´m requesting, i´d like to see a mod where the game who be bigger more then 3000 turns but with few turns to make military units these whould be great to get the feel for the eras because eras pass so quickly that when we have a fine military for the time the era pass and we are weak again, how many times do we have a nice military full of axeman, swordmans and horse archers that takes forever to get and finnaly when we´ve done it the era comes to an end and the rivals are already starting to built muskeetmans and knight,these whould be good right at the start i always dreamed of having wars of warriors and archers with a large amount of units wich is almost impossible even in marathon, it turns that we almost don´t build any warriors because bronze working is discovared se fast that when we start to build same military units they turns to be axemans,i think this is a good ideas for a mod.

Another one was when we finished the modern era and enter the future era we would be able to construct futured units and buildings like for example: Cyborgs, oversea colonies, stealth tanks, bionic planes, etc, i´ve played and similar mode to this one but in warlord it was genetic era, i think this would by far increase our gamepaly in BTS.

Lindemann Battery (Sangatte, France )
Seydlitz and Karola Batteries (Groix and Ars-en Ré, France )

can you make these building for civilization 4, please.

Anyone into Master of Orion? MOO2Civ could use UBs and/or (National) Wonders to represent the different racial abilities! (All buildings are currently standard Final Frontiers.) At least one Leader per race are done, if you need a general idea of what we're looking for.):please:
 
an easy way to add resources?
* Farm Food: Potatoes, Soy or Beans in general, Nuts (which could just be on a plantation instead)
* Animal Food: Poultry (Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Goose)
* Seafood: this would be hard... but the best one would probably be squid, maybe shrimp or lobster too...
* Luxury Food: Tea, Cocoa: Chocolate, Coffee, Fruit (Apples)...?


and Tobacco as a non food item. im just naming these based upon an atlas that i have in front of me, which shows trade routes and items. most are luxury and food. however, there are some metals.

i know that some of these are already floating around the forums. so if someone could point me in the right direction to collect them all... i could try to do it myself.
 
Modern roads and railroads are almost identical on the map. This might not seem like a big issue, but it's a hassle trying to figure what is a road and what is a railroad. I am looking for a mod that will allow me to determine if a tile has roads or railroads without having to move my cursor to the tile and inspect it.

I don't have mad skilz, so I need some assistance. Maybe if the road graphics did not change during the game it would be enough?

I have some problems with my vision. I have adjusted many aspects of the game and tweaked my computer, but this aspect of the game still causes problems for me.

yup that idea is gold. I hate that too. In fact I know that there is a graphics solution to the problem you have outlined. I'll see what I can get done and get back to you today.

we could change to color of railroads to red, orange, or magenta. (I like the idea of red rail.) or I could change modern roads back to their ancient color. I would like to keep the roads the way they are because at a glance, I can tell if that CIV is more primitive (or advanced) than mine. Either way, this graphics change would take just a few minutes to do. Let me know what you would prefer. I won't do anything until I hear back.
 
I resolved my issue. it was actually pretty straightforward. I have nice brown roads running thru my empire. i will send you the file if you want it.

you deserve full credit. Why not put your file in the downloads database ? This links to the Terrain Graphics. I'm certain that more people would want this besides we. Just select add file and you can upload a zip file that is less than 10MB without the need for outside hosting. Lots of folks cruise the database for bits and pieces. I'm glad that you got 'er done. I wrecked windows yesterday and haven't even put CIV back on my PC since the new windows install ...

Thanks. 10mb is a bit more than I need. The mod is 11kb (it's exactly 1 .dds file). it'll hit the database before morning.
 
>09camaro : I don't know much about python. There are some tutorials that describe a few tweaks. There are python mods that you can examine to see how python is constructed. Python is a whole language and your question is hardly answerable in a forum.
