by hyborem was Chalid astrakein, some host of einherjar and two werewolfes :D !

This is very weird. After installing patch b, the game hard freezes for me during "initalization" of a new game. I have emptied the cache and deleted the custom assets folder, but no luck yet.

UGHH!!! Like an idiot, I did not save patch a, and my game will absolutely not start with patch b. Anyone still have a copy of patch a I can get?

When you build a city on a generic mana node the node is destroyed. Maybe nodes should be flagged as unbuildable. Not sure if this affects non generic nodes. The ai will really be hurt by this.

I've been lurking these forums for a while now, but I decided with the new release it was time to come out and contribute :p

I've been addicted to Fire, but so far there have been a few problems, mainly with the AI script.

Firstly: Evil civs seem WAY WAY too eager to convert to the order. I played a large map game where the only evil players were me and hyborem- all the other 6 players including clan of embers, svartalfar and balseraphs had converted to the order and were good =/

Secondly: Hyborem's AI was incredibly pacifistic in that game I played. Sure he declared war on plenty of people, but he never attacked with a single unit. Hyborem (and several sect of flies) would run up to a lanun city with 1 warrior in it, and then next turn just turn around and head back to the capital. Perhaps this has something to do with him being trapped in my cultural borders (with open borders on)?

Thirdly: The altar of Luontar is WAY WAY too easy to complete. In that same game, the elohim (noble AI) were up to the divine level of the altar before I had managed to conquer a single one of the 6 order civs- I had just got pyre zombies and conjurers. No other victory condition can be rushed so quickly- maybe the required tech should be a high level one rather than the current 1st tier tech?

Fouthly: Can great prophets be gifted? If so, in multiplayer, a focused team could rush an altar victory before even axemen had popped out :p

Overall however, immense amounts of fun. Hyborem > all >:D

Cool mod. I have some questions though...

- World Wonder Cauldron something is missing description
- I have a problem with the Infernals. I went to get Ashen Veil and the Corrupt the Spirit tech. So the Infernals appeared and i decided to stick with my own nation. The Infernal spawned next to me and began sweeping the land fire. This forced to rebuild most of my improvements.
However, the fire seems to last eternally on desert tiles and on certain hills tiles.
In fact i have been losing my stone/marble (dunno) source and 1 of my 2 nodes.
Is this intentional ?

So what is the story with the Hyborem? I can't kill it; each time I do it spaws a new one. Where do I need to go to read up on these guys?

Also, what does it mean that my units have gone with the Infernos to the after life? I never seem to see any of my units gone. I don't know what that means.

Finally, what is with the new counter in the upper left hand corner?

Sorry, I'm a bit lost and I couldn't find the info I was looking for in the Civpedia.

Patch "c" is up and linked in the first post. It fixes the following issues:

1. Pirate Coves no longer cause CtD's.
2. Hyborem no longer resurrects indefinitly.
3. Mercurian multiplayer CtD fixed.
4. Resolved GiftUnit error giving Manes to the Infernals.
5. Spells are now correctly marked as not alive (so they wont be effected by fear, turned into werewolves etc).
6. Fixed a giftunit error if the civ isn't allowed to have thos edisciples (fix by Teg Navanis).
7. Difficulty level will follow players that switch civilizations.
8. Hyborem starts at peace with the Barbarians.

It won't break save games.

Thats fixed in the latest patch. I would recommend the following to read baout the infernals: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=202889

It only happens when a living unit dies.

Thats the armageddon counter. The link I provided will talk about that as well.

To start, a pathetic question, how do you do the quote thing with originally posted by...

Next, great job, fire is awesome :)

Finally, a rant:
1. to blackmane I had the same problem twice with Hyborem, both times he started with the whole world already claimed, so he just declared war on everyone and then chilled out. Interestingly, you can make everyone happy by being ar war with him and almost never be hurt. Also, the AI didn't know what to make of his not having any cities, they didn't attack him either

2. also to blackmane, I had the same problem with evils going neutral with kilimorph which appears early, 3 evils to start, then just me and everyone teams up to kill poor little me.

3. Prophecy if rangarock seems to be broken, it doesnt' affect the arm counter at all an I didn't notice any marks (counter was at 18 when I built it)

4. What does mokka's cauldron do?

5. The warscript seems very strong, at least on monarch, especially when I was the only evil or fellowship player, it took wo turns for the whole world to gang up on me. also, it seems to mess up ther doviello who are stuck at war and so spend too much time on units and fall behind.

6. Again to blackmane, are you sure abou the alter, I thought the final level required Righteousness or something which is very high level

7. when can we expect to see the Svartalfar, sidar and Illians?

8. Despite this, stil great job!

Svartalfar and the Sidar won't be covered until "Shadow". The Illians won't be covered until "Ice".

Mokkas Cauldron's pedia entry is in patch "c".

The Warscript will get some tuning. And Hyborem will be gettign a spell that allows him to create his own area (on most maps raising a hellish island in the ocean) and teleport all of his units to it if he isnt able to make a city in a certain amount of time.

Won't that pretty much effectively take Hyborem out of the game anyway? We all know the AI is pretty rubbish at handling naval incursions, so if the only way Hyborem has to interact (read: rape, pillage, plunder and annihilate) with the rest of the world is by means of boats then he will, well, not amount to a whole lot. Which is kind of sad.

Though I suppose I do understand it may be hard to fix him up any other way. But optimally he would just go hog-wild aggressive if he can't "settle" 'peacefully' somewhere when he is summoned. Seems fitting.

Anyway, all good so far, lovin' me some Fire. :goodjob:

Also, a question. Does Hyborem's 'Fallow' leader trait not affect captured cities, only ones you build yourself? Or does it set in once the population is a majority Infernal or something?

I only noticed as I tried the Infernals out a little that my two first cities are correctly Fallow-locked, but two Grigori cities I conquered are growing as normal cities do.

EDIT: On second thought, scratch that. A few turns later it became obvious they were just claiming to be growing normally, they never did, and after a little while the graphics caught up to date and greyed out the "city will grow in X" window as should be.

EDIT #2: EDIT #2: And just to make sure I understand how Fallow works correctly.. Food is completely useless to the Infernals? Their cities never grow nor starve, and only increase in size by Manes and such? So building farms is pretty pointless? Or am I missing something here? It's very late and I'm kind of sleep-walking through the game right now..

Kael would you mind answering to my post #3789 ?, particular my question regarding everburnig fires. It think it pretty much sucks to lose your most important ressources, especially if you have no water mana (which i guess is what u need for the spring spell).

Firstly: Evil civs seem WAY WAY too eager to convert to the order. I played a large map game where the only evil players were me and hyborem- all the other 6 players including clan of embers, svartalfar and balseraphs had converted to the order and were good =/

I have noticed since I began playing FFH2 that Evil races will just as soon convert to the first religion that comes around.

Somehow, I don't see Vampires and Barbarians as ones to be planting and frollicking in forests with Fellowship of Leaves. :crazyeye:
