[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Somehow, I don't see Vampires and Barbarians as ones to be planting and frollicking in forests with Fellowship of Leaves. :crazyeye:

Why not? :)
Vampires in forests seems good for me... like really big mosquittos :))

And barbarians - they are barbarians, forests suitable for them :)

And just to make sure I understand how Fallow works correctly.. Food is completely useless to the Infernals? Their cities never grow nor starve, and only increase in size by Manes and such? So building farms is pretty pointless? Or am I missing something here? It's very late and I'm kind of sleep-walking through the game right now..
That's the intent, let us know if it's different!

Won't that pretty much effectively take Hyborem out of the game anyway? We all know the AI is pretty rubbish at handling naval incursions, so if the only way Hyborem has to interact (read: rape, pillage, plunder and annihilate) with the rest of the world is by means of boats then he will, well, not amount to a whole lot. Which is kind of sad.
Good point, it ought to be a hellish peninsula.
"Don't worry, hell island is just a name. It's really a peninsula!"
(With apologies to the Simpsons.)

I've got one more silly question. In FfH 2.016 I've seen a pretty small red button in upper-right corner, showing statistics for the selected unit. But I can't find it in the new version -_- What happened with the button? :)

Hi, First time posting on this mod, but must say absolutely fantastic mod. Really amazing job. The interesting thing is I just recently started playing Civ. 4 after reluctantly shelving civ 3 for a while. I have never played this mod before but I can see its worth buying Civ 4, all by itself.

Im playing Arendel on noble, great plains, huge world, epic, and Im in 5th place by score but doing well culture wise. Im hoping to win by religion(oct. overlords) but am only at 23% so far and need 80%. I didnt expand enough that much seems clear at this point ( yr. 523). I highly recommend GREAT PLAINS as an map option , as you get that middle earth kinda feel to things, imo.

One question I have is, am I to assume different plot/goals are in store for each version, meaning its good to have the various editions for different experiences. I will likely wait for the refined fire edition while I try different options on ice. Thx again for this Amazing mod.:goodjob:

This is very weird. After installing patch b, the game hard freezes for me during "initalization" of a new game. I have emptied the cache and deleted the custom assets folder, but no luck yet.

I have been having the same problem with patch a,b and now c. After reinstalling the mod with patch b, I was able to start one game up and running, but no luck since.

There was a discussion on the sub forum about it's value, majority were in favour of losing it if was resource hungry or would allow the team to add extra features. Shame I miss it

Yes and no. Each new design phase will include new features and gameplay changes, but what works in one version will ideally be kept in all future versions as well.
But if you want a more stable game, stick with the version you have; if you want to join the exciting fire beta, get the new one in the first post. :)

And one more question (yes, it's silly again). I can't load autosaves, made while playing FFH (this problem occured both with 0.16 and 0.20). Civilization just don't believe they really exist. Is there some way to be deal with this problem?

You need to unselect 'Show Unit Health' in the game options.

It sounds like you are trying to load the autosave with just Vanilla Civ4 loaded, or doubleclicking the autosave directly (unfortunatly a save file doesn't knwo what mod it was used with). Load up FfH and then you should be able to load your autosave.

No, it doesn't work that way... FfH is loaded (it's always loaded :). Whenever I try to load a save (from the game or from the main menu), it just throws me into the main menu screen -_- If I try to load usual saves (not auto ones), everything is OK.

I have noticed since I began playing FFH2 that Evil races will just as soon convert to the first religion that comes around.

I admit I have a fairly hard time imagining the Calabim as a Leaves worshipping civ, but the Barbarian ones? Seems to fit like a glove. Remember, Fellowship of Leaves does not change alignment. It is no pansy peace-mongering hippie approach to life, it is, as I understand/see it, simply a reverence for nature. Picture the Doviello with Leaves as a more simple nature-spirit worshipping tribal society, and then remember they are still Evil, so they probably emphasize the harsher truths of nature, survival of the fittest, the right of the strong and such. Seems to fit neatly into Charadon's "fluff" text, for example.

Just my two cents of course. :crazyeye:

Seems to work properly insofar as I've seen it then. :goodjob: However, that begs the question.. Is there any point to building farms for them? Does their food intake still affect the Conquest civic for example, thus giving some relevance to farms (or possibly Aristocracy I guess, if you're so inclined), or are they really useless for Infernals?

But yeah, that strikes me as more logical.

On an unrelated side-note.. The Infernals are pretty.. Powerful. ^^ I'm not going to out-and-out say they are unbalanced just yet, as I've only tried them once, and never tried the Mercurians to compare. But they certainly are a bomb to drop on the world. And if they appear relatively early, like they did when I tried them, then they are complete slaughter upon whomsoever has the misfortune of being near them. When I tried them out I was slaughtering my way through mostly Warriors, and that wasn't.. Very fair by any means. And boy, does the Armageddon counter rise quickly.. xD

Anyway, balanced or not, it is wickedly entertaining stuff we have now. I'm itching to try the Mercurians already, and I haven't even finished trying the Infernals. Bwah, bwah, bwah.

On an even more irrelevant side-note.. Playing as Hyborem has the undeniable effect of making me randomly burst into laughing insanely and going; "I am become Death, destroyer of worlds!". It feels.. Appropriate.. >.>

Cheers!

Am I missing something here? A great prophet in the holy city of the Leaves does not give the option to build Song of Autumn. The other holy building buttons are grayed out (of course, because this is not their holy city) but Song of Autumn button does not appear at all.

Yes, in fact infernal workers are unable to build farms.

sheut stones??...i think there were once cows in there...then, having founded ashen veil and had my lands burn into hell types, suddenly there are sheut stones requiring a quarry...do they DO anything in particular??...is that what happens to cows once burned by hellfire?? :)

I think the relevance of the first quote is not so much barbarians/fellowship but rather that ALL races tend to adopt the FIRST religion that comes their way. Calabim with The Order anyone? Bannor with overlords/veil? It doesn't make for very interesting wars when everyone's the same alignment.....

Yes, if units are built in a city with access to Sheut Stones they start with the Sheut Stones promotion. That gives them +1 Death Strength, +25% resistance to death damage and -10% resistance to holy damage.
