[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

This mod is fantastic. I haven't enjoyed Civ so much in years.

BTW, I downloaded the mod and the media pack from Gameflood. There is no download screen to show progress. At least I didn't get one. I click on dl, then it looked like nothing was happening, then a few minutes later the file showed up where I had sent it in my file structure. Might just have been a quirk for me, but some sort of mini-screen showing download progress would be great!
 
Lita of Alexandria is the main character in Mardero's pedia entry. What civ owns Alexandria? A basilica and guardsmen are mentioned so one can assume it is a civ likely to adopt the Order. I've gone deep into the Bannor city list and haven't come across it. Elohim maybe? :confused:


Oh yeah, what happened to the Guardsman unit in the reclassification? I see the promotion on the different units, I think. :)
 
Couple of noob questions here:

1. I own BTS, but have heard that it's a somewhat nerfed version of FFH. Considering I have never played this mod, in everyone's opinion would I have a better experience playing the BTS version or the one on this thread?

2. What are the main differences between FFH1 & FFH2? Should I play 1 first before 2?

The one thats included in BTS is only a single scenario in the world of ffh.
FFH2 is much much more and is currently converted to BTS.
So I recommend to play the scenario if you like fixed scenarios and then download the mod.
If you dont like fixed scenarios skip the age of ice scenario and download the mod fo vannilla civ now since it will be a while till its fully converted.

FFh1 was made soley by kael while ffh2 is teamwork.
The world is the same and ffh2 as much more features (however the download is much much much bigger)
I would recommend playing ff2.

I'd suggest exposing yourself to the tone of the FfH world with the scenario, realizing that there will be differences to the mod, and then get your feet wet in FfH 0.23c while waiting for the BtS conversion ~unless~ you are able to help with the conversion by reporting CtDs caused by the latest patch in that effort (see the thread, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=232177 ).
 
For your Combat 6,7, and 8 promotions you don't have to create a new textkey for the names if you aren't trying to make different names for each different language, you could just type the name you want directly in the place where the textkey would otherwise go.
 
Sry for posting my BtS post here, but you guys are always so helpful and since it slightly involves Age of Ice i might not get flamed for it. (sometimes you just wish you were better with stuff like this...)

Hi, in BtS my game often crashes when there are video animations. Wonders and the intro for Age of Ice mod.

Anyone else get that? Civ4 runs without any problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

Noticed that the videos are working in lowest resolution but not in any higher... - still dont know what to do to fix that.

Is there a posibility to give to Barbarian heroes nationality? Like Hyperborem?


Thats mainly because on high levels AI gets a free win vs barbarians so when Stephanos/Bubloes/Yersinia show up ,they get killed instantly, so they are no threat. I never saw them survive one turn on Immortal/Deity. In my xml they were moddified with 32+ strenght but even a sole catapult kill them!!!
 
I checked the wiki--no good civs have the city alexandria. Perhaps Kael knows, it was his entry.

It was a major Bannor city. It used to be in the city lists but I removed it when I was cleaning out more recognizable earth city names. I will change the story to one of the existing Bannor city names so it fits.

That is odd, the AI never gets free wins vs barbs (and neither do players on any level in FfH) so it shouldnt apply. The AI does get -25% vs barbs across all difficulty levels (no real idea why that is, I may remove it entirely).

You might want to take out the guardsmen references since they are not a unit any more but a promotion.
 
Hi, I'm playing Lanun on a small island map. I'm Octo Overlords with Slavery civic. I'm killing elves left and right. I keep seeing the captured a slave notification popup, but I have only one slave. Where are the other one's going, as they are not coming to me. I thought maybe this was some island issue, or otherwise there is some confusion with the capture a slave notification after combat.
 
Are you perhaps killing them from or with a ship that has a full hold? Elves can't swim, especially enslaved ones, and no-that's not a good way to make 'Drowned'. ;)
