[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

If they have loyality you get the popup but no new units since they rather commit suicide than join you.

So, is FFH2 running on BtS? I heard is was being converted, but not still fully converted...

There is a beta for bts but as you said it hasn't all the features of the 0.23c version.
But you can play the 0.23c version when you put your vanilla civ cd in your comp.

Here you can find all the threads concerning ffh2:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=190
including the beta for bts.

I can't download mod and mediapack from gameflood. Is there some other server where is FFH2 available?

EDIT:hmm... gameflood don't like Opera. I can download file with IE

Can anyone tell me where is located in Python files the amount of experience an Hero gains every turn please? I cant find it. Is it considered as a spell or a simple promotion?

Hmmm... judging by the civilopedia it's a promotion at least that was where I last saw it... no idea where the files might be located thoug... too much of a newb for that kind of knowledge.

That is odd, the AI never gets free wins vs barbs (and neither do players on any level in FfH) so it shouldnt apply. The AI does get -25% vs barbs across all difficulty levels (no real idea why that is, I may remove it entirely).

Well, I changed the power of barbarian heroes( Stephanos;Buboes;Yersinia and Ars Moriendi) and NOW they will survive about 20 turns, creating a little havoc. I removed their magic immunity to give the player without horses the possibility to kill them.(they have drill IV)

I guarantee that with initial promotions they dont survive ONE turn. At least on the last three diff. levels.

Its done in the SDK, there are some values that control it in the global defines.

Kael, you still forgot to put a link to the FFHII website on either the download page or page one of this thread.

The website is too good to go to waste.

I noticed some changes in game mechanics.

1; Workers , when automated ,they go crazy, chop forest, build over other improvements, and, most odd, they suicide themselves when you are at war. They keep going near the enemy...

2; Defence. If I understand well, you introduced the concept of defence, which didnt exist in vanilla. I mean, a warrior with 3 attack had 3 defence also. Now it seems that defence is 0 for any unit except those with heroic defence. Thats why we win most of times when offensive and lose EVERY time on defensive.

I did some test giving all promotions possible and impossible to one unit then it got killed by any hunter.

Game goes much well when AI starts with mysticism. Could be possible to give more priority to AI for mysticism? I mean elder council is a must and AI goes whole game (on deity) without researching it:eek:

Where can I get my hands on the FFH SDK? I'd love to use the City Hub feature so all cities could spread more with enough culture.

Heya Mylon, welcome back!

The source code is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=190381. Im in the process of converting FfH to BtS right now. Soon there will be a BtS version of the source available for those interested.

But the link has all the vanilla source code along with a documentation subdirectory that contains most of the changes. There is a file just for the sprawling mechanic that should have everything you need.

Is it intended that the main benefit of Sacrifice the Weak (the Ashen Veil civic) is of no use whatsoever to Hyborem, the one who has the most to do with that religion?

EDIT: Also, am I the only one that things it an unfortunate flaw in the game mechanics that Hyborem is unable to possess the Ashen Veil holy city? Especially considering that that means that Meshabber of 'Dis' can only be built in that city, and not Dis itself. Perhaps Dis should become the Ashen Veil holy city upon creation and only Hyborem should be able to build Stigmata on the Unborn.

Really!? Are you playing the BtS beta version or v 23?

I was wondering the same thing... I know I don't have any problems with the barbarian heroes wreacking havok in my games (on noble level  )

@Tiranasta while the Infernals may not benefit from the 1 less food requirement they still get a nice bonus to money and research so I wouldn't say it's completely worthless to them. But I do see your point with the Mishapper of Dis all I can say is capture the holy city from your "friends" (my experience playing as Hybroem tells me that you have no friends) and Voila you have the mishapper! (another solution to the mishapper "problem" could be moving the Mishapper build requirements to the infernal guilmore?)

JUST ONE MORE THING (turn?): Is it intentional that Liches can't build mananodes?

Oh yes, Sacrifice the Weak is still good for Hyborem, but the food requirement bonus is the best thing about StW in my opinion, and it seems strange that the most significant part of a religion's civic is worthless to the one who practically represents said religion.

Unable to possess the Ashen Veil holy city? I beg to differ. You just have to think like a demon lord of Hell. So what if some mere mortal claims dominion over that most unholy of sites. So what if they most likely are the nation of men who summoned you to Erebus. You're a flaming Infernal! You owe them no "gratitude", they brought whatever fate you dispense upon themselves when they opened the path between reality and Hell. If you want to possess that city you will damn well possess that city, and woe be upon those who would deny you!

The second point however is true. Meshabber of Dis will never be built in Dis ( unless you change city names around :crazyeye: ). Making the Ashen Veil holy city switch to Dis upon summoning the Infernals would be extremely unfair to Ashen Veil players however, who would gain no real benefit by founding the religion except for a short boost period before they (or even barring that, someone else) summons Hyborem and they lose it. That's a penalty no other religion has to deal with, so it would feel a bit.. off.. to me at least.

Why is he Meshabber of Dis then? Why not make him like national units then and make him Meshabber of...wherever?

Btw, I FINALLY got that animation software I wanted, and if you don't have someone doing this already I could try working on some buildings or wonder animations or w/e. I might need to get used to using it again, since I haven't had access to it in about a year.

Maybe he was born in Dis but only came to fame in whatever the Holy City becomes... Just cos he is 'built' somewhere doesnt mean he couldnt come from somewhere else...
