[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Congradulations to Abman for winnign the 1st FfH Design a Unit contest with his Giant Spider entry! For winning his entry will be entered in the mod and his name will be immortilized in this thread as hopefully the first of many contest winners.
 
What do the Elf Slayer, Dwarf Slayer, Demon Slayer, and so on Slayer promotions do exactly? I couldnt find it in the civilopedia but I knew they did something because my units were getting good odds.
 
The question I keep asking is:

How do I make it so that FFH is loaded by default?

and I am never able to find the answer when I actually want to make the change.

A: just look in the "fall for heaven II" subdirectory in Mods, there is a link that start directly FFH2 without the need to start civ4 vanilla first. Copy it on your desktop or in the start menu and you are done. (it is still slow but it is one step less
 
Log me in for another marathon. 10 straight hours!!!! Trying all the civs out (Mostly Neutral and Evil so far) so not too sure about this one.... Crusade? I get the civ revolution ability, but have yet to be able to choose it. How does it work?

They give +40% vs. Units that have teh respective Promotion. So a unit with Elf Slaying gets +40% against units that have the Elf Promotion.

In 0.13 this will hopefully been shown correctly (note next beta release is 0.12 so it will take some more weeks)

Only the Bannor can use the Crusade civic. It does the following:

+Crusade (Bannor only) (Loki)
You can only enter a crusade when you are at war.
+25% Military production.
-75% War Weariness.
-100% Great People rate modifier
While in the crusade the units they can make are limited (no settlers or workers).
While in the crusade the buildings they can make are limited (no elder council, market, obelisk, moneychanger, theatre, aqueduct, public baths, herbalist, carnival, courthouse, gambling house, granary, smokehouse or brewery).
5 turn anarchy period to start a crusade.
You cant initiate diplomacy with a civ you are at war with during a crusade (you have to wait for the AI to ask for peace or keep fighting).
Disciple units made during a crusade gain the Evangelist promotion.
Crusade only units:
Demagog
Flagbearer

Now I also am wondering about the "Kraken" and "Bird" (The mounted soldiers) that are supposedly in this mod. If they are there, who can use them? Also what are the odds of the dragon being ready for the next Mod update?

Do you have an eta when you think you will release .12 on Sunday? Just curious. Not that I am obsessed or anything, just want to make sure to plan my weekend around the release. :eek:

Also, just curious if this next version will have fleshed out the cult of the dragon religion a bit more. Love the cult!! Like playing the Kuriotates too.

Yes, In the next Version the Cult will get much additional flavor, in form of the dragons. So you can look forward to teh Kuriotate Hero as well :D

The Kraken is already in, they can only be summoned by Octopus Overlrods high priests so they are pretty rare. Im not sure what you mean by the "Bird", if you mean the Wind Knights they are a Hippus only unit.

I know this is really far off in the future, but are you guys going to make a Fall From Heaven Phase 3?

No plans for it. We have "Fire", "Shadow" and "Ice" left to do for FfH2.

After that, who knows. If I had to guess (and this is just a wild guess), I would think that once FfH2 finishes if we still want to make another mod I will probably get the team together and talk about starting a completly new project.

Mmm new version goodness. Longer loading times... but hey i can deal with that.

Hmm next project now thats an interesting thought... if there wasnt already a warhammer project i'd recommend that. Hey doesnt matter first finish this... Perfect your creation.
 
Ehm im a bit dissapointed. Im using dial-up and just 2 days ago, after 12 hours of stop-and-go downloading i finished downloading version .11.
Now i was expecting a patch of some kind, but instead you only offer a new, full 170 mb download. Are there any plans to release patches, instead of only full downloads ?
