[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I see.
As for the start of the translation work, the one that waited for 023 looks good.

I look forward to the next update. :)

By the way, why will it be my misunderstanding that the city name of GRIGORI feels like having watched it somewhere?;)

Yeah, Im a huge Final Fantasy fan so I slipped a homage to Final Fantasy into FfH.

Well I know you know this, but Final Fantasy ;)

But even Squaresoft took it from somewhere, and Midgar for example is from norse mythology (Midgård)

Well.
As well as Square, the Japanese game and novel tend to make a Norr n myth or Celts myth a motif.
The Cthulhu myths are considered to be material recently, too.

I was glad. Having come across the game that went out of one's country.:)

For the wolves, I think it should be that all animals have a certain restriction on terrain. (example no elephants in tundra and no wolves in desert) I made changes for this awhile back ago for myself in the xml files. simple enough. If anything possible if Kael could put it in an equation that takes in account for how many land tiles exist + x amount of civs with only a small multiplier that would equal maximum amount of spawned animals in the world at any given time.

I just started playing this MOD over the past few weeks and I have to say that I'm hooked. I did run into some bugs playing with the Sheaim and I believe it appears to be bugs that have been fixed in some of the earlier patches, so I can only assume I just have the base install. My question is whether I will lose the ability to play one of my current saved games if I apply patch h.

On wolves, would it be possible to change their "maxpop = 1/5 landmass" thingy to "maxpop = 1/5 (landmass - all player controlled land)" since the game tracks player land for domination anyway?
I dont know the language/code so I dont know if that'd work.

Patches don't invalidate save games, you will be able to continue.

Thats the way it currently works. It only calculates the unowned land.

First, long time player and reader of forums, first time posting though. Great mod/game kael.. better than retail. (but mods tend to be.. look at Counterstrike, lol)

I dunno why people complain about too many animals.. I personally find that there arnt enough.. its like impossible for me to get the grand menagerie.. even if I rush for the subdue animal tech/hunters.. one of the animals is completely wiped out.. tigers and gorillas being the hardest to get. (though this is on single landmass maps.. i suspect that multi-continents may be easier if one is unoccupied)

A possible bug note.. since .22 the little intro movie that comes on when you start a game, it doesnt crash the game.. but sometimes when i click it to cancel it (to start playing faster) it then crashes the game out.

I continue to be hooked, for a long time now. I have found I have to play at the quicker game speeds to enjoy the late game.
Kudos. FFH rocks.

Panters, gorillas and tigers are very rare. So Grand Menagerie is almost impossible to build.
What is the plan for Meta Magic?

I play on a Terra map (size: Huge). I always find that Hyborem ends up getting the entire second continent to himself, which is good in a way, but also means he has near negligible effect on the game for quite some time. Is this intended?

EDIT: Yes yes, I know that not long ago I was complaining that Hyborem didn't have enough space to build when he was summoned. :P

IMO this is more a general AI deficiency in that they are absolutely hopeless with boats.

You're right with the Panthers, tigers and gorillas. But conerning the wolves...
You have seen that screenshot on the page before?

once we convert to BtS, we need to give Hyborom on a change of the seas or by an event. Where the sea turns red or black by radius or when the Armageddon reaches 50 or higher. Also we need unique boats for each civilization just what Lunan did, I don't care if it's death galleys or King of the Line, we all need unique ships.

Not really. Trying to force every civ into having unique naval units will just make the whole process terribly conformist in and of itself, ironically. Some Civ's may certainly deserve them, but hardly all of them. Some of the human civilizations for example one could easily conceive building the same kinds of ships. I'm not averse to diversifying the naval theatre some. Diversity is good. But literally going in and trying to give all civ's unique ships would just be a ridiculous waste of time and effort at this point, heck, quite possibly at any point. It just isn't pertinent. :crazyeye:

Wiki still no worki.
Great first post *lol*

I like to find familiar things in the Citynames of this Mod.
Asgar - Asgard is the hall of heroes. Kind of Heaven in norsk mythology, right?
EDIT: DUH, it was Midgar. Can't remember what Midgard was, but it was something in norsk mythology, too. And its a roleplaying system :)
Innsmouth - "Shadow over Innsmouth" was a Book by H.P. Lovecraft. The Cradle of the Cthulu Myth, that has for sure inspired octopus overlors, hasn't it?

One thing you maybe not know: Kalocly, the barbarian city is called colakli in reallife and is a turkish town. A suburb of side, wich is a holiday area.

i have a srange occurance. i downloaded 2.16 and it worked perfectly. when 2.20 came out, i downloaded and i had no toolbars or anything. just the map with the people. checking the forums i renamed my customassets to customassets.old but still nothing changed. i redownloaded civ 4 patch 1.61 and no change. when i put 2.16 back in, i worked perfectly! any solution to this problem? (yes, i am positive that it was the full download, not just the 3mb patch)

Midgård is in nordic mythology the human plane, it lies somewhere around the roots of Yggdrasil, and borders to the Giants plane Utgård, and to the elves plane Alfheim. Midgård's border is made up of a wall, built from the giant Ymir's eyebrow. Midgård practically means Middle Earth. With Asgård above, and Niflheim (or Hel) below.
