[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Hi,

I’m new to FfH and really enjoy it.
I'm playing FfH II .25

I started to play with, Kuriotates - Cardith Lorda, but was unable to use the 3de plot of land given by sprawling. Is there something I need to do to get it to work? Tech. Or is my game not working correctly?

p.s. Is this the right place to ask general questions.
When will the Wiki be back up?

Thanks.

Current version does not have sprawling working correctly I believe that it is fixed in the version due on Friday. Ask any where you like but you might get a quicker answer in the dev sub forum

Friday? I'm pretty sure Shadow won't be released until Sunday, December 16.

It has been confirmed that Sprawling is back in the next version.

aw! i could have sworn the 16th was friday!

Kael and Co are breaking with tradition... everything else has been released on a friday.

yea, hard choice, but this sunday actually is the second birthday of FfH II :)

Hey there, been playing the .23 mod for some time now on the vanilla civ4. Found it so great I decided to buy beyond the sword to be able to play the .25 version. I bought the game installed it, patched it for 1.31(the latest) then I installed the .25 version of fall from heaven followed by the latest patch. The game loads fine and all, but when I try to start a game it just ups and crashes. And I receive an error about 'cvgamecoredll.dll'

------

AppName: civ4beyondsword.exe AppVer: 3.0.0.86 ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00121e40

------

Can anything remedy this error?

The current patch should be 3.13. You may want to make sure that is what you are running. Also make sure the normal BtS game loads normally.

I meant 3.13 lol, BtS loads normally and so does the mods that came with the game(age of ice works, and so does a couple others. The sole problem is when im trying to play a game of fall from heaven via customgame / play now! options. When the loading screen should appear it gives me the crash window message of
AppName: civ4beyondsword.exe AppVer: 3.0.0.86 ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00121e40

Thanks for the fast reply, hope the next one is just as fast ;p

I'm not sure how this happened, but it seems when I went to double check my self on the patch of BtS it said 3.00. Which is odd since I remember downloading it, but not the actually installing of it.

It works now, thanks again for the help kaels. And thanks for making this mod ;p Its the sole reason I went and got the civ4 expansion ;p

Sunday is gonna be pure heaven, finally a real FFH mod for bts not "just" a conversion mod (although great)... maybe I should call in sick this monday??? ;)

only monday? :D

In the latest upgrade (?) of Civ 4 BTS, they fixed a problem with trading where other civilizations would make unreasonable demands for goods or trade for items that they already had. In Ffh this appears to still be a problem. When Shadow is released, will this be corrected?

I was also curious if the Civilopedia would be improved so that it will be easier to tell what buildings and units you can build when you get a technology? For example, the tech that provides Druids isn't always clear as to which civs get them. Alternatively, I went after Machinery expecting to get the Machine Shop and, lo and behold, it wasn't a building that I could construct (probably because, being Divello, there's a lot of other buildings that I cannot have).

Thanks.

Hmm, if its fixed in the latest upgrade of BtS (3.13) then it should be both the current version (0.25l) and the coming shadow version. I'll be waiting to hear if there are any further issues with it after "shadow" releases.

Thats a good idea, but we havent currently done anything along those lines. We do have some additonal information in the feedback for things like: when you pick a leader on the play now game option you have the civs starting mana types and hero listed, we also have a warning popup before you cast a spell that will cause war (so you have the chance to cancel it).

I wonder if you are gonna cut off techniques, or at least put units or buildings or anything in cases where they are missing? Like Ljosalfar and Rage.

I thought this was intentional. You see, in FfH, many of these demands aren't unreasonable. In FfH having multiple resources can be a major boon, especially for resources like mana, and the hell resources that slow enemy healing. The AI should probably be made less likely to want multiple mundane resources like corn, but even then being able to trade multiples of things is useful it lets you act as a middle man between civs that don't like each other enough to trade/don't have trade routes/are at war)

If being able to trade multiple resources is a bug, then I don't want it to be fixed.

No, I think it was a bug from the BtS patch. Often the ai will suggest a trade on their own but not agree to the same if you then ask to negotiate, but instead demand several strategic resources that you only have one for, for only one happy resource!

Do you mean you do not get the iron weapons upgrade? If so you need to have researched the correct tech I think it might be smelting (but I really cannot remember). All of the weapons upgrades happen after the resource has been discovered and by a separate tech

Additionally you need a specific tech to get access to the resource. These differ from the techs you need to see the resources.
