[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Well Kael, your mod is fantastic, I've been playing the Vanilla version. I just have one question. I see that some units have what appears to be fractions for their strengths, such as the archer which I believe is 3/5. Does this mean the unit has less than 1 unit of strength, or have you given them attack/defense values like in Civ 3?

DL'd the newest patch yesterday and started a new game. I love the new Events!
I got one where I was asked to solve a murder - GRRREAT IDEA! With a little bit of logic, the correct answer was obvious and I got +1 happiness for 10 turns. Just out of curiosity, would I have gotten +1 unhappiness for the other answers?

Also, has anyone tested empirically whether 'Living World' and 'Wildlands' are working properly? I always play with both options enabled but subjectively feel there are far too few animals and too few events. As I say, this is subjective - but for me it feels like I'm using normal settings, I'd expect more from these 'extra' settings.

Breunor is dead on. We have gone around and around the dead or alive issue on siege weapons and ships. At the end of the day I think its more intuitive to have them as non-living (when I thing about what a casual gamer would expect). But either way is cool with me as long as its consistent.

Thanks to both you and Breunor for the replies. I (like I'm sure most players) agree with you that consistency is important.

So on units that have just one number, say, 5, thats their strength and defense?

Yeap.

@Dragonlord- If you choose incorrectly you get some message about "You can't help but feel like you punished an innocent man" or some such. Crime also increases in the city a little bit (since the murderer went free).

Thanks for the replies guys, I can't wait to get BtS so I can play the newest version!

First, excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong thread; but couldn't figure out where to post this. In a few of my games I had a strange event; a window popped up and it said something like, "The Bannor Queen's discipline even reflects on her private chambers. You left it tired." The even more strange part is that happened to me when I was playing Capria myself; and when I wasn't Capria. Is this intended to happen to both Capria and non-Capria players? And above all, what is the effect of the event?

Thanks for the help guys :)

Anyone?

Or can anyone point me to where I can change the amount of animals spawned and the frequency of events in the game files?

It is only supposed to happen to Falamar, when Capria is in the game. It (like the other "Pron" events that Falamar has for the other female leaders) still isn;t triggerng at the right time, although the last few several each claimed to fix it.

I play with both options most of the time.

I'm not sure if Living World has much of an effect. According to another thread that I read, it increases the chance of an event happening from 2% per turn to 4% per turn. In theory, there should be twice as many events.

Wildlands does not populate the world with extra animals, it just makes animals spawn instead of barbarian orc units. I have noticed that when Wildlands option is selected, you get animal barbarian units for about the 1st 1/2 of the game. At some point, the animals stop spawning and the barbarian orc units come (in force).

nvm that question, i found my problem

the next question is: what is the difference between settlement and city?
i noticed that settlement max population is always 1

can i change that into a city?

Settlements only occur when you're playing Kuriotates. The Kuriotates are the only civ able to use the 3rd ring of tiles around their cities. To balance this powerful feature, they can only build a certain amount of cities (3 on a normal map) - after that, they can only build settlements, which can only hold down territory but not produce.
So Kuriotates typically have a few huge productive cities and the rest settlements: the archetypal builder civ for a culture win for instance, but not really much good for Conquest or Domination.

I installed K patch only(no real Mod), and tried to start FFH
I got this error

GFC error: failed to initialaize the primary control theme" error loading the mod

Deleted K patch, installed Mod+K patch, and works fine.

I thoght K patch was all-in-1 file.......

By all-in-1-file, it was meant that you need no different patch, i.e. patches a to j. You still need the mod, but only the newest patch on top of it.

If the patch would be the entire mod, it wouldn't be called "patch", but rather "mod", eh? ;)

Cheers, LT.

I can not seem to rebase a bird, this may have been covered but i can not rebase a hawk to a ranger in the field. I believe i could on the previous version.

So did i install the j patch correctly or is this supposed to be that way.

Thanks for any info, and again, great job on this.....
