[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Hi Kael and team!

Once again I just wanted to say how my I apreciate your work, hopefully you will get some great feedback on mulitplaying FFH2 after next weekend where 8 of my friends and I get together to play this wonderful MOD at LAN... so if you have any patches comming up, I hope you add them before friday :0D

Hey I'm just gonna restate my question form before because it seems like it go lost in the sauce: The Meshabber (sp?) of Dis pedia entry says it only requires the AV Holy city and Infernal Pact to be built. I have both, but I can not construct him. Are there other requirements not listed that I must meet? Perhaps a AC rating or a higher level tech?

Yes Meshabber needs a minimum AC level, though I don't remember how high - I think 90 or so.

Ah okay, that makes sense.

A simple question: Does Alazkan the Assassin have "immortal" status? I don't see anything in the civilopedia regarding this, but having Faerly as a neighbor and having had to kill Alazkan now 4 (four!) times (he killed one of my mages and thereafter I stocked up on hawks!), and he being a supposed "world unit", I have to wonder...

I've had him as a unit in the past, but never having gotten him killed I never discovered whether or not this (he being an immortal) was the case.

Thanks!

You should be able to tell the difference, because his mirror image is transparent. Kill the Opaque one, and he should be able to keep summoning duplicates. (The copy is identical except that it has Illusion instead of elf, lacks equipment promotions, and has limited duration.)

Is this a new spell? I've played Faeryl in the past and I don't remember it...

Also, does the mirror get stronger each time you kill it? It seemed like every time he appeared the odds of winning the combat kept getting lower and lower (for me!). Or is this simply the promotion he received for killing my mage and hawks (not that it seems he should get much for killing a hawk!!)?

I'm currently at war with Faeryl and I have, so far, taken four of her cities. In none of them is there an obsolisk as one of their current buildings and yet I also don't see it to schedule production (usually the first thing that I build -- for culture). Can anyone tell me why this is so since, in past wars, I've always been able to build them?

If it helps I'm the Bannor and I currently have Conquest selected as one of my civics.

Thanks.

Mirror is a unit-specific spell that Alazkan has always had; well, since he was added in Shadow. It doesn't get stronger each time you kill a mirror image per se, but it is always equal to the caster; since he is a hero and gets free xp (thus can purchase promotions) it is logical for them to be getting stronger.

Obelisks are among the buildings that the Conquest civic disallows. Switch out of it and they should be buildable.

Actually, Alazkan is IMO the best Hero in the game. The combination of HN, Marksman AND the Mirror spell is incredibly strong.
Used correctly, he can kill 2 units each and every turn of the game - one himself, and one with his mirror... with an occasional short rest to heal, of course. Regardless of whether you're at war or peace, he can just keep picking away at your neighbors, gaining experience all the way and just getting stronger. I've had him up to Lvl 20 or so, IIRC.

Just make sure the original can't get counterattacked. Best tactic is NOT to have open borders with the neighbor you're attacking and have him retreat over the border after his attack
The mirror won't give the original XP, but can be used as a kamikaze unit deep into enemy territory. Best thing is to end the mirrors turn in a strong defensive position and watch the AI throw away some more units taking him out

Hi all,

Ive made a try on this mod.. great job, really impressive.
I started at prince difficulty / normal speed on various maps and encountered something strange : in most of my games I manage to get a very powerfull unit quite early (killing animals & barbarians) and this unit become so strong that it can take down other civilizations. By turn 200 I've already razed 2 or 3 opponents.
Well I guess I should just not attack them, but hey Ive got a powerfull warrior / wolf rider, I want to use it :)

Re all !

yesterday I started a new game with the lunan (not sure of the name, the guys starting with navigation) on a shuffle map.
hm theres something that looks like a bug : this civ can sacrifice worker to build a pirate bay. in the civilopedia it is said that pirate bay can only be build on plains and that there must be 3 tiles between each bay. In my game I was able to build them anywhere (grass land / hills) and as close as I wanted.

but so fun to build the new Cthulhu cult :D (why is the capital insmouth and not r'lyeh :o...).

I believe the pirate cove stuff is still waiting to be fixed. At the moment they can be built as close as you want after they grow into harbors.

How was it determined what can be built and what cannot? I thought perhaps that it was any culture-related building, but upon checking found that this wasn't the case. For example, they could build temples (pagan and otherwise), but not harbors (even though they could build lighthouses). It appeared as if most financially-related and health-related structures could be constructed (are these considered militarily-oriented?).

Thanks.
