Mod Game Saves

Hello,

So I recently got Civ5 for my Mac. I've enjoyed it on my PC for a little while now (I heard really really bad things about the Mac one for a long time). Basically the other night I enabled mods, and I played with the "Have Fun" and "In Game Editor" mods.

I'm sure we all know how addicting this game can be, so around 4am in the morning I forced myself to stop saying that I can complete my conquest of India later. Lo and behold, today I tried loading it and it said "Currently enabled mods are not compatible with this saved game"


I'm currently running version 1.0.9.34384
I have made zero changes to any of the mods. I even tried running from the mod window a game without any active mods, and it still failed to load citing the same reason.

Does anyone knw a fix?

Hi

If you attach the save to a post here (use Go Advanced and select Manage Attachments), I can have a look at it and see what mods it thinks you were using when you saved it. Maybe the mod names are not being picked up correctly.

I don't recognise that version number. My Campaign Edition is version 1.0.1.383 (101968) in Get Info, and it's version 1.0.1.511 (104166) in the game's main menu screen. My Steam copy is version 1.0.1.511 (103716) in the game's main menu

I have attached my save file.
The names of the mods (folder name) that I am using:
"have_fun____v_2"
"Ingame Editor (v 20)"

Your save is an old version - save version 4. The current version and previous versions of Civ5 both produced save version 6. I don't know how you manage to be that far out of date. Steam would have updated you automatically unless you have deliberately suppressed it, so I guess you have an old App Store version.

The mod names stored in your save are "Have Fun !" and "Ingame Editor". Both of those need to be loaded before you try to load your save.

Okay, I actually just updated the game and everything works fine now

I couldn't save the old savefiles (as in they still won't work), but so far all my modded games seem to be loading
