MOD: New Leaders/Traits for RiFE

It's funny you should bring this up. I've been planning a Musteval leader... I'm thinking of going with the "plaguetech" angle. Oh, how I enjoy the Skaven.
Me too! this was pretty much what I had in mind when suggesting a non human or centaur leader :P
On a side, I'm wondering what is considered RiFE canon for the races within the Kuriotate civ? They obviously cater for some minority races that are not developed enough to deserve their own civ (yet :P)

We're planning multiple Kuriotate leaders (Just fits the civ), but nothing along Skaven lines.

Aww, no Musteval leaders? (Just for reference-- Skaven look somewhat like Mustevals, right? Just so I'm not horribly off-base when I go to find a portrait.)

I'm also planning a Lamia one for the Kurios-- the racial variety make them a joy to make leaders for. Although, I've been wondering-- are Lamia in FFH aquatic, amphibious, or simply land-based? I thought it might be cool to have a sea-based Kurio leader, just because it's a terrain type that typically gets no love from the Kurios. Poor, unloved oceans.

in the next few weeks (when i have more time) i would love to make a little mini modmodmodmod collection for rife that would include your mod if i have your permission... (would include 'FFH More Events Modmod Expanded', 'Mana Flares' and 'New Leaders/Traits for RifE')

Go for it! I should even have some more leaders out by then. :goodjob:

The Kuriotates seem to employ a passive caste system; The various races are best suited for different jobs, and tend to stick with said jobs. The following races are confirmed:

  • Humans - Largest group, jack of all trades master of none.
  • Centaur - Large population, typically in the military.
  • Lamia - Smaller population (I believe), Arcane.
  • Musteval - Smaller population (Again, no real basis, just going from how late they were implemented), Recon.
Not sure there would be any other races in large enough groups; Some elves, some dwarves, some lizardmen, but not enough to represent meaningfully in game.

Of course there will be a Musteval leader. And a Lamia. Just nothing along the lines of Skaven. :p

Really, art is similar but the animal is not; Weasel vs Rat. Could get away with it easily though, just claim it's an evil Musteval.

As for Lamia... Honestly, I have no idea if they are meant to be aquatic. I'm planning to implement them as land-based... Actually have completely different plans for an aquatic leader. :mischief:

Awesome! I will try it out immediately.

I somehow does not work. I did install RifE1.20 +patch 1.23 then I copied the Assets into that folder. Everytime I try to choose a civ with one of the leaders of the most recent patch I get a CtD. In the civilopedia the new leaders are shown, but don't have a picture or a description that says what traits they have etc. just a blank page. The building Aether beacon also does not exist according to the civilopedia.

Whoops-- just did a fresh install of the mod, got the same thing. Must've forgotten to put one of the files in the download. I'll have a fix up by tonight at latest. Sorry about that!

Okay, we're golden. This version should work just fine now that I've actually added the ArtDefine file for the new leaders. :D Download away!
