Well, I have one simple idea, the "Mod of Europe" just using European civis. I have the idea to use 56 different leaders, not necessary one per civi, but I wanna represent all the continent as possible I can. Why 56? Because we have 8 bonuses (expansive, financial...) and we can make 28 different combinations. If I put each combination 2 times we have 56 civis. If I put more them 56 leader the mod could turn too heavy for dial uppers, when I'd be able to animate the LHs and produce my own unit models the mod could have hundreds of mega.

Not a fan of Illyrians, but I like the premise.

If you need an eastern exotic country, go for Armenia or Turkey -- even though they're from Asia Minor.

Well, do you go with Huns or Hungary? (Two entirely different countries obviously. Different language, culture, ethnic group, just same location. Kinda like Gaul vs France.

Albeit there is unquestionably some intermarriage. Given millennia that's a given.)

That sounds great, although 1/2 of the CIV's are already published individually.

Maybe you could tweak theirs and add it to your Mod.

well, 56 leaders with a limit of 2 by civ? that mean at least 28 civ:

France  ingame
UK ingame
Germany ingame
Russia ingame
Greece ingame (lack a leader, Pericles is known to be a good second leader)
Rome (lack a leader, plenty of choice, need a poll for this one)
Italy (both Rome and Italy, or else you will lack some civ, one Medicis, plus the guy who made prince of piemont-sardaigne king)
Spain (lack a leader, i have seen many time Philip 2)
Netherland (use the new civ, maybe improve the LH)
Celts (use the new civ, maybe improve the LH)
Hungaria
Bulgaria (use the new civ, erase a leader)
Austria
Poland
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Finland (use the new civ, maybe LH work)
Vikings (use the new civ, lack a leader, Erik the Red?)
Switzerland
Portugal (use the new civ, lack a leader)
Serbia (use the new civ, LH work)
Croatia (use the new civ, LH work)
Czech
Etrusques
Cyprus (with minoen civ)
Pope states
Belgium

well, it's hard to get 28 civ...i prefer not imagine finding the leader and the UU so i advice you to use the max work done you can get with other people work...

i would be glad to add yours great LH to my mods...

Cyprus with Minoans?
That doesnt work very well.
Instead have Minoans(Crete) civilization replace Pope States.

Well, to be precise, the Huns did intermarry, but a few centuries later they where over run by a new nomadic people, the Magyars. These people are whom we now know as the Hungarians. :crazyeye:

Armenia is a good choice though compared to Turkey they have always been an Asiatic country, while Turkey was 50-50 European and Asian/African for most of it's Ottoman era. Basicly, everything east of Vienna was Turkey back then. It's weird to exclude them.

Huns and Magyars are close cousins though. :) And they happen to speak the same language. The word Hungary derives from Onogur. That means On Oguz - (On = Ten in Turkic/Turkish, Oghuz = Arrow) which is a loose confedereation of Ten Oghuz Turkic tribes.

I finished Hungary's city list, but have to do the leaders file. If someone could give me a good hint how to edit the the leaders file fast and efficient I would apreciate it (I have read the thread about how to add civ leaders but i don't got clever from it). I would use I. István and Hunyadi Mátyás (or Mátyás only) as leaders or one of them substitute with the first president of hungary after the fall of communism Göncz Árpád.

Illyrians are an important civilization in ancient Europe. They were the descendants of the modern day Albanians, and contributed many great leaders and people, notably to the Roman Empire after the Illyrian Wars, such as Constantine the Great, Diocletian, Justinian the Lawgiver, and many more.

That's another question - are we using English version names of leaders or original ones? Civilization seems to be following the former method (you have Peter and Catherine, not Pyotr and Katarina, for example) and I think this is a better solution (for example most people playing the mod would have no idea who Istvan was, even though they have heard of St. Stephen).

You could have both Rome and Italy.

The Kingdom of Italy was mostly confined to the Northern Italian peninsular during the middle ages, Rome and downwards were seperate. Not until the mid 1800's was the entire peninsular united so they won't overlap.

Of course it would make more sense if you took the civilizations that were present at one particular time frame and just went with that. So no mixing Austria with Celts if there was over 1000 years seperating the demise of one and the birth of the other...

St. Stephen lived before Jesus and was the first Christian martyr. It would be more accurat to use the hungarian name I. István or Szent István. There is also in hungary a university called Szent István Egyetem / Szent István University. I think the russian leaders are better known in english than the leaders of "now" small countries. I would bet that f.e. in North America there aren't much people to know who is who in the European history. They even have problems with the geography of Europe and the location of countries. It's pointless to mention the knowledge of the Capital cities of European countries. (I mean no offense)
