Mod/setting questions for Civ 5

I just have a few questions related to mods and settings:

1. Is there any way to skip out of the video introduction without getting boot out of the program? If I click my mouse, it boots me out of the game. Can I delete the video somehow?

2. How do I save my settings? Every time I want to start a new game, it just shows the default random settings. I want to play a Huge map with certain civs and other game settings, but it just throws me back to the default settings.

3. Is there a "Regenerate Map" option? If so, how do I get it? Is there a mod for that?

4. How do I customize city lists? I want to create my own list of cities for each civ?

5. How can I get culturally-linked starting locations?

Thanks.

When you click during the opening movie it should skip to the game proper as soon as it's done loading. If it's shutting down the game entirely, then it's likely an issue with your computer.

That being said, you don't have to "delete" the video. This thread explains what to do to disable the movie, but keep in mind that you'll still have to wait for the game to load. You'll just be looking at an empty black screen for a minute or two instead of a movie. Your mileage may vary on which is better.

Alas, advanced settings are not saved. There is no way to do so.

The only comparable option is to exit back to the main menu and try again. To my knowledge, there is no mod for this.

4. How do I customize city lists? I want to create my own list of cities for each civ?

You would need to mod the game. In my opinion at least, it's easier to just rename the cities as you plop them down.

5. How can I get culturally-linked starting locations?

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been an option since Civ III. Personally I never cared for it anyway, but to each their own.

try this mod. Only civs selection is not saved, but I may add a (saved) restriction list, which will have almost the same result.

point 3 can't be done with the current game engine.

point 4 is doable via a mod. look Kael's guide then mod the table Civilization_CityNames. And/or see this thread : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=439082

point 5 is in my todo list, somewhere...

Thanks for the replies. That helps clarify things.

I downloaded Gedemon's mod. Looking forward to using it.

Where can I find Kael's guide?
