Modbuddy isn't recongnizing files

I'm having an issue with Modbuddy. I can open up project files in Modbuddy but all the other files (XML's,etc.) in the project are not showing up when I open it. I just see the modinfo file in Modbuddy. And if I start a new project it won't let me create a new file because when I click add new file, none of the templates are there. I have already tried reinstalling it and nothing changed.

Just realized that the files may have loaded with the project, the tabs at the top aren't loading correctly along with the list of files along the right hand side so I just can't see them. It's almost like Modbuddy loads only a template of it's self, like a cached website on google.

After a crash or an SDK patch, ModBuddy will forget which files you'd had open when you closed it previously. It's not a bug, and all you have to do is click on the appropriate files on the right-hand window to reopen whatever you need; they're loaded, they're just not automatically put as tabs at the top of the screen. For folks making small mods that might only have a handful of files, sure, it's handy to have everything open at once. For those of us whose mods have HUNDREDS of files (Gamedata XML, Lua, UI XML, SQL, DDS files, GR2 files, and so on), that doesn't work so well, so you get into the habit of only having those things open that you need to edit at that moment. It's not such a big deal then when the SDK does this.

Also, "Modbussy". Heh.

That answers the first problem, but still can't add files to a project. If I click on File go down to new and click on New File, it just shows an empty list where the blank XML, SQL, LUA, and Map Script files are supposed to be. And the Add New Item icon beneath the Edit menu is faded out.

How do you select a folder? I made plenty of mods for myself using Modbuddy and I have never had this problem.

By left-clicking on it?

Sorry if that answer sounds sarcastic -- I don't mean to be. Perhaps something really weird is going on. It's just hard to tell from your questions. Can you create a new mod from scratch? That might tell you whether the problem is with your mod or with Modbuddy.

Okay, I will try to be as specific as possible. This happens when I create a new mod or when I open a previous mod. The add new item button underneath the Edit tab is faded out, it only allows me to create a new project inside the one I already have open. And I'm just now noticing that the right hand menu, the one that says properties, is completely blank. It used to come up with a list of all the folders and files in the project, but now it's just blank, and I can't do anything with it.

That was the problem, I had to do what Nutty said. I guess before, Modbuddy would just automatically pick the folder. I have no idea why it just stopped doing that but at least I have my answer, thanks.
