[MODCOMP]Cultural Influences

In the regular game, I've noticed galleys can enter ocean squares within cultural borders. Is this the case, as well, when the cultural borders expand into ocean squares due to the mod? I hope so, as for instance, Rome's ownership of both sides of the med allowed it to own the ocean, culturally, and so, galleys habitually crossed what would be considered otherwised uncrossable ocean squares (as sussed out in game terms).

what does changing the mod line to mod = mods\great options do and why do I get an error message while loading after i do that?

There is a typo in the readme. It should be

mod = Mods\Cultural Influences

not:

mod = Mods\Great Options

Well the TheLopez. I must say after testing this mod out, it is working great. :goodjob:

I particularly like the cultural decay. I found after capturing enemy cities that it was saying 0% Canadian within my borders and took quite a number of turns to actually go up. :p

I have one question though about the culture shock. How exactly does that work? After capturing an enemy city I don't really see a difference in my cities culture. Is it a very small increase... or what? I am still unclear how it works exactly.

It is not an increase in your culture, but a decrease in theirs... That´s what I think...

That is correct, from what I understood in the original mod's readme file.

TheLopez, I´ve got no response from Bhruic... Is there a way to use your mod with the Custom Assests folder? Because I tried using it leaving only the options for the CultureDecay mod, and got a civ4.exe error...

I'll post something later tonight ok? I am just putting the final touches on the current mod I am working on.

Can you please post a copy of your saved game?

I haven't seen this behavior before. You might want to report it to Chalid as well in his thread, here is the link:

Which cultural Level is the city in question? From here it looks like the firaxians recalculate the culture somewhere and do not use the culture distance function. I'll look into this as soon as Kael allows me some free time ;)

Thanks Chalid!!!

Actually, I thought that is how the slow cultural borders growth worked.

Seems fine to me. ;)

@Agent: The strange thing is the second ring of culture outside the cities small cross.

Ahh yeah now I see that. I didn't realize that's what was being talked about. I just thought those were part of another city. LOL.

Seems odd cause I don't have that problem at all. Of course I am using your old code and not the code that TheLopez uses for this mod. It didn't work for me at all for some odd reason so I went back to your old code. ;)

it is influential +129. if you look in the save game file, it happens in others cities and some of them are not mine. the germans right next to thebes have expanded culturally into the spaces my culture doesn't fill.

sory it took a week to reply, i went on vacation
