This is a little something I whipped up this afternoon. Basically, it is an attempt to make the native civilizations a little less of a pushover. It gives each native civilization a new trait corresponding to how their tribe was historically.
It can be used as a standalone mod, but it shouldn't be hard at all to merge it into an existing mod like AoDII or Triangle Trade(Right now it only edits some XML files, though I plan to add some art files later)
You can download it here.
What it does:
Aztec: All units starts with Wilderness Warfare promotion:
- +20% Attack & Defense in Forest and Jungle, +10% in Light Forest.
Inca: All units start with Altitude Warfare promotion:
- +20% Attack & Defense on Hills and Peaks.
Tupi: All units start with Pillager promotion:
- +10% City Attack, +50% pillaged gold
Cherokee: All units start with Guerilla promotion:
- +30% withdrawal rate
Apache: All units start with Territorial promotion:
- +25% City Attack & Defense
Iroquois: Gains 5 guns per city, per turn.
Souix: Gains 5 horses per city, per turn.
Arawak: Gains +10% production for all crops, stronger relationships with other natives.
Also, the 5 new native promotions are available to all civilizations, but require the Veteran V promotion as a prerequisite. If for some reason you have a unit with an absurd amount of experience points, you can get these promotions as well, as they are slightly better then the regular promotions.
Right now I'm looking for some help finishing this mod up. I need:
- Someone to make 5 .dds files to represent the new promotions(Right now they use the Great General icon)
- Someone to help me come up with better names for some of the promotions. I'm happy with Pillager, Territorial, and Guerilla, but I want to find another name for Wilderness Warfare and Altitude Warfare.
- A better trait for Arawak. While it matches them historically, it doesn't really strengthen them much(except for making you less likely to attack because they make a better trading partner)
